Right now I am still voting for Trump in the primary. At this point at least.
I prefer that anyone here illegally is sent out and not allowed to legally return. Period.
Several people have said that only happens the 3rd time, by law, on some other threads I have read.
That law should be changed.
If you say people who leave on their own can apply to immigrate like anyone else, but those who are deported can’t, it’s an incentive for them to leave without having to find and deport them. Carrot and stick.
Trump says the good ones can come back, but legally. I guess you don’t understand what a process it is to become an American citizen, do you? Of course, Ted won’t let them come back in - he has no intention of deporting them. Case solved!
While Cruz wants to legalize them in place.
Uh. Cruz silent on whether he will let deports etc. Come back legally. Trump silent on how will let some back in , but can assume it will be legal. Cruz has history of loving lots more legal immigrants. Trump not so.
I choose Trump on this round.
” I guess Donald Trump really does have a soft spot in his heart for illegal aliens after all. Viva Amnesty! Viva Trump! “
More retardation from the Cruz side of FR.
Inching closer to me staying home in November if this guy gets the nomination.
Cruz has two positions on every topic. Voted for TPA cloture, voted against TPA. Was against gay marriage , not it’s up to the states. Was for 400% H1B increase, now against H1B. Was for amnesty, now against amnesty. Was silent on a wall, now is vocally for a wall.
When questioned, falls back on ‘the constitution’ as if there is one set of interpretations for it.
He’s a skilled politician no doubt.
In the end, you're measured not by how much you undertake
but by what you finally accomplish.Donald Trump
The question is, can anyone believe a word Cruz says concerning immigration? This is a dramatic shift from what he said when he announced for the presidency. Then, he only said he’d secure the border and streamline legal immigration, and make it something to celebrate. And his position on H1-B increases is well known.
What a tough guy he has become is only the past few weeks. Not buying it.
This reminds me of how W was firmly opposed to amnesty during the 2004 campaign, and how Juan McCain campaigned on securing the border first in 2008 and again in 2010.
Ted’s coming across like just another triple-talking border state politician on the immigration issues.
Nice that Trump blew up the politically forbidden mention of deportation by wrangling it into acceptable discussion. Now Cruz can bravely claim he will raise him a notch. Where was he on deporting prior to Trump taking all the “incoming” heat?
Interesting that Cruz would fire a shot at Trump.
No one has survived a first shot at Trump.
Cruz must feel invincible.
Guess we’ll see.
False analogies abound LOL!
Cruz is only deporting them when they come into trouble with the law.
Those lawbreakers wouldn’t qualify for return under Trump either.
6 from one, half a dozen from the other... and people argue LOL!
Cruz is only half right. Trump said he would allow them to come back through the legal process and getting in line with all requesting immigration.
“How come Trump wants to allow these lawbreakers back into the country?”
This summer, during a Megyn Kelly interview, Cruz refused to say the would deport illegals.
Also, Trump described the ones he would allow back in, and he mentioned mostly those who have college degrees. That would prevent 99% of the illegals returning. I am puzzled, I thought Cruz was ALWAYS, AGONIZINGLY honest. Not with that.
Oh, NOW he won’t let deported immigrants return, now that The Donald has raised hundreds of thousands of cheering fans from all around the country for the idea of — finally — curbing illegal immigration. Thanks for clarifying that, Ted.
