A Manhattan judge ignored a career criminal's history of mental illness, releasing him without bail after he sucker-punched a stranger - leaving him free to slash a woman in Chelsea a week later.

The security camera footage of this attack is creepy; the victim had to get a lot of stitches. The attacker’s sister blamed the system, and in this case she may have a point: They tried to get him admitted to various places, and they kept bouncing him around with taking him. She said (and his arrest record bears it out) that there was no question that he was dangerous; nobody was fighting to keep him out of “the system”.

The fact is that this (and the related homeless problem, since many of them are crazy) is an obvious sign the system has run out of money.

Much like it being ignored when they want to purchase a fire arm. Here lies the problem

Thank the ACLU. There was a time when confinement mental hospitals dotted the landscape filled with those persons who we now find defecating on our stoops and living in culverts under the highway and, sadly, slashing strangers in the street.

But, thanks to the ACLU every crazy person gets one kill. Until a person is actually killed or seriously wounded, there is no chance of involuntary confinement. Even then, a person confined is only there until he acts sane enough for release.

The Black Robes enjoy the rape and murders of Americans
... ONLY because they and their families
are not yet held responsible by the American People
whom they attack with every Decision.

The liberals and the psychologists feel locking them up is inhumane so they have them self medicate in outpatient clinics and the walk the streets to prey on society. This is thier utopia

Some of these dangerous predators could be eliminated if a healthy number of those on the streets of Manhattan had guns for self-protection. When an insane person can roam the streets attacking people and an ignorant woman judge doesn’t think his 31 arrests matter, New York is not a safe place. Yet, the media was having the vapors over Texas CCL gun owners being the 45th state to allow open carry as of Jan. 1. (Not one incident has been reported, by the way.)

Amen brother
We closed a huge mental facility here in Raleigh. I guess the ex-inmates are roaming the streets. Thanks ALCU
Of course the city council was glassy-eyed at the prospects of getting their hands on this large prime piece of property on the SW side of downtown Raleigh. Worth millions.

There is an answer to this. Money
Parolees, bonded out, mentals deemed ‘cured’ committing crimes.
Suits that hold judges, esp. the thugs that are turned loose because of ‘overcrowding’, parole boards, psychiatrists financially responsible when they turn loose these thugs.

Yes, not possible now but the right case may come along and open the door to putting an end to this travesty.

Well said!

Most of these crazy homeless people are not killers, but it is positively inhumane to allow them to walk the streets. They are incapable of making rational decisions for their own welfare. Thanks, progressives.

So true.

If governmental immunity was not available to parole boards and psychiatrists who certify insane people as sane, there would be much less of this nonsense.
