Tonight’s GOP debate was Ted Cruz’s night. He went right after Donald Trump multiple times, but in a way that came across as forceful and informed, but not nasty. He also fended off a pretty vigorous attack from Marco Rubio. His strongest points came early and against Trump, when the audience would be the largest.
Trump was runner-up. He had a good moment on Cruz’s slam on “NY Values,†but I’m not sure how defending NY values plays outside NY. His performance will confirm pre-existing views of him.

Trump shut that speculation down entirely tonight by saying “if I picked him for VP, I would have law suits”.
Actually I am glad he did it.

Ted did not have his best night. Trump has improved his debate skills exponentially. Getting in that back and forth with Rubio was hurtful to Cruz IMO. I look for Trump’s poll numbers to up in the next few days.
Cruz killed tonight. Convinced a lot of fence sitters that he is the real deal. Trump was Trump, his fanatics are die hard, but not a growing group. His negatives will not move.

The whole “mother” thing shows how desperate Cruz is for attacking Trump’s mother who WAS a US citizen when Trump was born. Trump owed no allegiance to a foreign nation at birth, Cruz did ... get over it ... your man does NOT meet the constitutional requirement of birth to be president.

I read Illegal Resurrection all the time. Watched twitter feed on it to avoid those hardcore trumpees who believe all trump and trash all Cruz. DT did lie about the 45% tariff on China. I know you don’t care, but just for the record.

Oh for gosh sakes. The ‘mother’ thing was Ted’s little joke to show how far Donald is reaching on the birther issue.
He wasn’t serious and he had a Reagan moment when he promised not to go after Trump’s mother.
I’ve noticed Trump supporters never seem to get Ted’s humor.
