The money quote as the WHY people should be offended by Cruz’s NY comment.

‘— we can’t and shouldn’t write off any part of America.”

Trump won and one thing’s for sure, he gets better and better every time he debates. Bring on the socialist, whoever he/she may be.

At this rate, a Trump vs. Hillary contest could be a WWE pay-per-view event.

If so, I want to see them go at each other with the folding chairs. I’d pay good money to see that.

Cruz never said anything about 9/11. Trump went bellow the belt on that one. Cruz the national champion debater choked

Yup......born and lived in NYC till age 15. Living in the far burbs most of the last 52 years. They are BOTH right. NYC and much of the burbs are horrible left wing $h!7 heads.

But those left wing $h!7 heads, for the most part, we’re NOT the ones running into buildings to save people. They were cops and firemen. Most NYC cops and firemen are NOT POS leftists. Many if not most bolted for the burbs long ago to get away from the slime that a leftist city attracts. My dad, an NYPD cop, moved us out to the burbs because much of the city was becoming a sewer in 1964. It has only gotten worse

Cruz missed a golden opportunity to straighten out the facts.

I thought Cruz had a pretty good moment when he took on the birther question, but after considering it, I think Trump won that moment too. Despite an excellent response from Cruz, the question is still out there. Trump with his focus on a Democrat lawsuit if Cruz is the nominee turned the discussion toward what is good for the party. He did not have to argue Cruz eligibility, he simply brought up it could be a distraction. If that moves 10% of the voters away from Cruz, then it is a victory for Trump.

Trump had a very, very good night. Cruz, not so much. Poll movement, or not, will be interesting.

Every pronouncement of "he won" is empty and meaningless. It's opinion, and we all obviously have different opinions on the top guys. The ONLY thing to actually WIN happens in about 2 weeks, in Iowa, and thereafter. Until then, these pronouncements of "he won", with absolute certainty, are just goofy, as are the poop-flinging arguments that come afterwards.

My kid did good. Yours did too. Nice pageant. Let's move on.

Freerepublic wasn't always this bad, was it? Maybe my memories are fuzzy and happy, but I don't recall this volume of goofiness around election time before.

The short article is saying “We are acknowledging Trump somewhat but Rubio won.”

Cruz mistakenly assumed it was an actual debate. He foolishly tried to win a real debate. In doing so, he lost.

He’s supposed to be smart. It seems he tries to imitate Reagan and others.

It’s a two-man race between the two best men. Fantastic.

(Unless you love the status quo).

May the best man win, and may America become a winner again.

Trump won in a very big way.

Rubio did well.
Cruz got dinged good by Rubio, Trump and himself.

All Trump won last night from my perspective is confirmation that he’s not presidential material.

The politics of personal destruction with bogus claims often works but is rarely used by Republicans unless they are rotten to the core.

By the way ....Trump....William Buckley’s Father was from Texas.

Must be kill in’ NRO to say something positive about Trump. (Critics COULD say he “set the bar so low early that a few decent exchanges like he had last night now make him look brilliant.” I wouldn’t say that but some could.

If all the 1% to 10% candidates stay in, it is certain that either Trump or Cruz will go to the convention with a mere plurality. Not good at all, it leaves way to much room for the GOPe to maneuver and manipulate.
