Donald Trump Booed By Conservative Crowd After Attacks on Ted Cruz

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Among conservatives, Donald Trump can typically do no wrong — until he attacks Ted Cruz.

On Saturday, Trump drew boos from a grassroots conservative crowd during remarks at the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition Convention for his attack on Cruz's previously undisclosed loans.

"You give a campaign contribution to Ted Cruz, you get whatever the hell you want," he said, before boos erupted from the crowd.

Trump went on as the boos grew louder: "Say whatever you want, it's okay, he didn't report his bank loans. He's got bank loans from Goldman Sachs, he's got bank loans from Citibank, folks, and then he acts like Robin Hood?"

It’s worse than the religion threads.

I quit going there. You enter one of Dante’s rings of hell.

Everyone here hates eminent domain as they drive on their local highway built using eminent domain.

Strawman. The eminent domain Trump favors is that which takes private homes from their owners and gives them to private developers - like Trump - for that developer's own private profit.

Using eminent domain to construct public infrastructure like highways is substantially different from using it to redistribute private property.

“as recently as 1999”

16 years before Reagan ran for President, he was pro-abortion.

Thank god we didn’t have FR in 1980, who know how much vitriol would be spewed. People would post picture of Reagan and Bonzo and talk about how he’s not fit to be president.

Trump has done a heck of a lot more than any other candidate this cycle or any cycle since 1984 has done...including Cruz. And I believe he can continue it...the others, including Cruz, can’t or won’t. They just don’t have the horsepower to take on entrenched DC or the lobbyists,’or their donors (or party) won’t let them. Heck, some of them are part of it. If it wasn’t for Trump, this would be a three person race between Bush, Rubio and Kasich (maybe Christie). Illegal immigration wouldn’t even be on the radar and the media would have buried Cruz long ago as the Green Eggs and Ham guy. Cruz is where he is as a candidate mostly, not solely, because of riding Trump’s coat tails, and now as the anti-Trump. Cruz should be thanking him.

If Trump had been my guy, I’d admit that I’d been schlonged after Trump mentioned Scott Brown as possible VP.
********************************************************************************
Or DOUBLE-SCHLONGED by trial balloons for BOTH Scott Brown and Kasich. I guess it could be even worse if Crispy Creme’s name begins to be bandied about.

Same here. DT’s tweets this AM confirm a craziness I have been dreading and suspecting the last week or so. Now I want Cruz nowhere near him lest the dementia is catchy!

How many PAID Trump subversives post on these boards? I'm betting more than we can ever imagine. He isn't a conservative...

Nobody is pretending he is. He is populist and fights against the liberal media but that's because the media is attacking him. OTOH, if it were not for the media attacking Trump, Cruz would be toast by now. The media and the other liberals consider them to be identical and radical right wing with only subtle differences.

The fact of the matter is that it is YOU that gets to decide if Cruz is "eligible". If you think he is, and you think he is the best candidate, then vote for him. If the only reason you don't support Cruz is because of some question of his pedigree, then you are free to do so.

The 20th Amendment notes that the electoral college gets to vote on the President and the Vice President. If, after they vote, it is determined that the President does not "qualify" then the vice president will become president until such time as the president qualifies.

So the issue of the eligibility of Ted Cruz is not ripe for any court decision until such time as he is actually elected president.

There is not a legitimate court in America that is going to rule that Ted Cruz is not eligible.

BTW by a strict application of the same criteria used to dismiss Cruz's eligibiity, Trump could be considered as ineligible since his Mother was a British Citizen at the time of his birth.

It is ridiculous, but then so are all the birther arguments against Cruz.

I was suppportive of both before Trump went Birther on us. Now I am solid Cruz.

Let's elect him and then deal with the birther issue after he and Sarah Palin are sworn in.

Trump got a spattering of boos because a TEA PARTY gathering was NOT the place to name and shame. If Ted did the same he would have gotten boo’ed as well.

But Trump is gonna Trump. Should have used coded language like Ted did earlier.

Seems to be about the same as the number of Cruz subversives. The only difference is that Trump pays directly while with Cruz, you gotta wait for the check from Goldman Sachs.

But the Trump checks are co-signed from the Clinton Foundation.

Oh, I don’t agree. It was a lot worse in 2012. I’ve only recently been released from a nursing home after the abuse I took in 2012.

Much more vicious than anything I’ve seen from the Trump people.

Quite right, Oceander. The US Constitution provides for the employment of “eminent domain” only for property that will be put to ‘PUBLIC USE”.

Liberals/Progressives/RINOs/the Supreme Court AND DONALD TRUMP have twisted PUBLIC USE to mean seizing property for private development and private use. Nice company Trump keeps.

Nice.

Trump used to say that his support for partial birth abortion and homosexuals in the military derived from his living in NYC and Manhattan, not places like Iowa.

But his positions frequently change when someone gets close to him in the polls.

Donald, we've noticed the pattern.

I am Cruz all the way and that birther stuff will go exactly as far as it went with Obama.

And if you actually read those Trump tweets, they were pathetic... one note pony stuff ... just taunts...worse than you see here and nothing at all of substance.

It was Canada, loans, Goldman Sachs, Canada, Canadian banks,
loans, Canada ... It was embarrassing.

Correct. They will try to justify the taking by rationalizing that it is, in effect, “public use” because such projects will “create jobs”. Well, lots of projects might create jobs, but that is not good enough to take private property.
