The problem is that these guys think that the structure of the nation is fine, and if you just paste some conservative wallpaper on it, then we can somehow manage to make a building whose walls are full of rot and mold actually look livable.
They don’t get that the walls need to be ripped out, and the rot removed.
Trump seems to be the only one that has the gonads to do it. I see Cruz putting in a bit of bluster, and then congress slaps him down. He will then go out and try to rally people, only to find that his appeal is limited and his effectiveness has been exaggerated.
Trump is already drawing in people from all over the map, and would go in with a huge cross-section of Americans that can be the start of a real revolution.

BTW, where was Cruz on the vote this week he supposedly supported but was off campaigning instead of being present for the vote? Sounds like Rubio’s attitude.
Trump’s “tool set” is primarily selling himself. I agree, he’s very good at it.
The man has no core principles and blows with the wind depending on the current circumstances and what he’s after. That would be pretty obvious if you honestly look at his past.
You found your “alpha” male and you are going all in. Nothing will deter you. He’s going to run over anyone that gets in his way and that is what you want. You want an authoritarian that does what you think needs doing.
If you really want to right the country, the only way to do it is shrink the government and return it to the limits of the constitution. Nothing else will work. Trump will do what Obama has done, forcing his will on us only in some other direction without regard to the constitution.
Where is your crystal ball that tells you how long I have been watching Cruz, knowing what I learn by studying the various bills and their implications? I don’t need someone else to tell me what the bills say, or how the votes went. Others depend on their favorite interpreter, I don’t. I believe what I KNOW to be fact. Period!
And as far as you howling at the moon about him saving the 2nd Amendment, IMO any decent lawyer could have gotten the same judgement. After all, the number one witness so to speak was the Constitution itself. He’s won five cases and lost four. Middling results in my opinion. Look into some of the other cases he worked on in private practice. i doubt you will like what you see. I know what I want this time around in a President and it isn’t Cruz. He doesn’t have what it is going to take.

I thoroughly agree. The Cruz followers don’t seem to be able to focus on problems and solutions. They have become too dependent on others opinions and hypothetical answers. No nuts and bolts and no steel.

The theory here was anyone destroying our enemy, the GOPe, is our friend. While that sounds nice it really isn’t very logical in the long run. You just might be next up.

Something vaguely similar happened in 2008 with Hillary. When Obama was taking out Hillary most here cheered. She was hated, and for good reason. We got something even worse.
No matter who wins, only the invisble hand of God creates the virtue, trust and prosperity that constitute great free market economies, never politicians!
I’m a successful engineer. I know something about problems and solutions in the real world. Faith in a candidate with no history of doing anything based on conservative principles won’t get you there. It’s a sales pitch and you’re buying.

I know Trumps past. I like what I see. His core principles are solid and your ideas don’t interest me. We need strength right now. Trump is the only one who has it. Haven’t you paid any attention to the things he has proven to be able to do? You’d rather listen to some blithering idiot who has never worked in Trump’s field and probably not in the real world at all. Trump’s tool set is an incredible intellectual capacity, a great memory for detail, wisdom in picking the right people to solve the problems he faces on a job site or a new project. etc. etc. etc. The Congress asked for his advice years ago. Even then he was recognized as a genius in economics. You try to belittle the man with your drivel about social issues when we need a builder, not another namby pamby cup custard.

I’m not trying to compare Trump to Hitler. There isn’t any comparison. Just the idea of we need “strength” now and the guy who offers the biggest punch gets your vote. Never mind the details.
