"We now have driven costs down to the lowest they've been in 50 years. Now we've got to get individual costs down...." Here's a comeback, for anyone reading. If Healthcare costs are the lowest in 50 years, she means for the Big Healthcare companies, so they maximize their profits while the individual pays more than ever. And THEN she wants to go and try to get the individual costs down? Sounds like she's running interference for Corporate GREED, like bought and paid for Politicians do.

We now have driven costs down to the lowest they've been in 50 years.

“Costs” are down in that the government is squeezing doctors. But people are paying way more.

Driven costs down to lowest in 50 years but the people are paying the most ever.
And I thought Republicans were supposed to be the party of big business.
The progressives priorities are:
1) Oligarchs
2) Government
3) Big business/Banks
4) People

That's odd because in the past 3 years, mine has quadrupled in price and coverage has been reduced to worse-than-HSA condition with a 4 thousand dollar deductible... 100% coming out of my pocket before even one dime is paid out. That comes out to almost 15 grand per year for a family of 4. It's almost worth not having at all at his point.
8 years ago, I was paying 250/mo for a straight 80/20 plan that went 100% at 3000 dollars.

Yeah, lower costs.
Like the fact that I had a policy with a $2,000 max out of pocket per person 3 years ago, and now the same premium buys only a $6,600 out of pocket per person maximum now - which bit me in the ass last year, when my daughter ripped her ACL.
Oh, and lower costs? Tell that to the hospital, which charged $102,000 for a 2-day stay - which didn’t include the surgeon’s or the gas-passer’s fees. No ICU, no ER services, just being in their O.R., and the tiny little room with a crappy TV and little in the way of temperature controls, plus some crappy food. A bargain at a mere $102,000. Thankfully, the hospital won’t get most of that, and the insurance company will pay most of the rest - but NO thanks to Odipshitcare.

What has also changed is the doctor’s income. Not only are their contract rates taking a huge hit, but they have been forced to hire more employees just to try and keep up with the Obamacare mandates, primarily the ICD-10 issue. Lots of them are moving to private pay only or joining a group practice. The solo practitioner who survives on insurance income is rapidly disappearing and patient’s are finding themselves with co-pays almost equal to the contract rate allowed for most procedures.
Just not a sustainable plan.
