Oh, I know that, but that was to build a new stadium. But Nixon was never going to get the General Assembly (the Missouri Legislature for you non-Missouri readers) to come up with that kind of money. The whole new stadium idea was really smoke and mirrors—the proof of that is how it all disappeared once the Rams left.

The Jay Nixon administration is behind the massive land grab taking place in Oregon County, and they are using funds stolen from the ASARCO lead mine remediation settlement to do it.

Apparently, their opinion is that some lead contaminated land is too expensive to restore, so the state buys “compensatory” uncontaminated land several counties away with the settlement funds.

Most of the people in the lead impacted counties and the folks in Oregon county are against this, but the administration is going ahead with it anyway.
