“Two days ago there was an orgy of hatred poured out on Palin’s head. Then they took up Track. I don’t go on every Trump/Cruz thread but I’ve never seen the level of hared poured out towards Cruz’s wife as what happened here the other day to Sarah. It was concentrated.”

I agree, that was an incredibly vile display. They were making FR look like DU and MSNBC with their insane meltdown. If Sarah had endorsed Cruz, she would be beatified. Their hypocrisy is intolerable.

I have had the exact opposite experience. Those I’ve talked to get the ‘ewww’ factor with Cruz. Don’t ask me to explain it, it’s just what I’ve witnessed. Those same people are fired up about Trump.

The wonderful thing is that we each get to make up our own mind and vote for we desire.

I have no doubt that everyone on this board has their own stories to share about those they converse with. We all move in different circles, so I really don’t put too much stock in it.

I hope you won’t call me hypocritical... that would hurt so much but I totally disagree with you about Cruz.

I do not see that mindless worship in Cruz supporters that is omnipresent in Trump people.

The authors are the Cruzers from FR who created a blog from which to hate on JR and FR. The content of my post were just a few quotes I gleaned while reading over their screeds.

They told me that the blog was a place to discuss Cruz’ candidacy without being attacked by the followers of The Don.

Apparently, and I only believe onyx because I don’t trust Trump people, it got out of hand and some people attack Free Republic.

How many people were there, anyway?

Why is it such a big deal if it was only a few.

Jim can make the decision about banning some or all of them and think it’s time to drop the whole thing.

"It was for a peaceful place where one could say good things about Cruz"

Please see the excerpts from that site I pasted into post number 535 on this thread. And please don't insult respectable Freepers with lies about the "peaceful place where one could say good things about Cruz" Is lying contagious, being around Cruz, who's list of lies grows daily? ("My family doesn't have health insurance" etc etc etc)...Your blog that you haters created is a place where people can say the most hateful lies and insults about Jim Robinson and Freepers. Mean and scurrilous lies about JR. Give us a break. You and all of your ilk should be ashamed of the things you are posting on your blog.

Sorry, but I’ve seen Cruz being hailed as practically the next messiah on some threads. Posters claiming that you aren’t a “true” Christian if you don’t vote for Cruz and that God was on Cruz’ side. That’s worship.

Just a few minutes ago I saw a poster with a very disturbing tagline that reads: JESUS IS FOR CRUZ or something similar. THAT is idol worship.

BTW, I wasn’t necessarily calling you a hypocrite, just some posters. I have no problem with you.

Dear Sir and Fellow FRiend,

I appreciate your post #691 very much. I confess that not knowing of your computer issues, the thought crossed my mind that you might prefer to have no further interaction with me, and of course I wouldn’t bug you if that were the case. Your response was a pleasant and welcome surprise.

As you might have already seen me say previously I was supporting Ted Cruz long before Trump got into the race, and I believe that he is a true Christian gentleman, although I think he has not been well served by some of those working in his behalf, there have been far too many missteps by his campaign and as our Esteemed Founder of FR has said, Ted has to really get cooking here to remain in contention.

Sorry to hear of your health complications but certainly glad to hear that you have recovered to this point and hopefully will continue to make progress, I too have a number of health issues (nothing like yours) but we both have the same doctor, that Great Physician Doctor Jesus, and if He is on the case, then we have no need to worry about anything. Any disagreements we may have had, well it must be my memory giving out because I can’t remember them anymore, lol - I will be pleased to remember you in prayer and your own good thoughts and prayers are most welcome as well.

I will also mention in a general way (out of respect for your privacy) that I know the integral part that you played in your region, in the victory of our 40th President Ronald Reagan in 1980, you worked your heart out and gave 100 percent, and you are certainly to be commended for that and I offer a belated “thank you”. We’ll never see another Ronald Reagan, but he inspired enough of us that what he stood for will never be extinguished.

Hoping the rest of your week will be superb.

Best Always,

Mark Jessup

Pass this along to all your collaborators:

Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. - owner, Jim Robinson.

You are here at the pleasure and out of the kindness of JR. You have no "right" to post here.

“Trump supporters can be pretty bad but they can’t and don’t hurt me. I feel sorry for them. They are sincere and worshipping someone who doesn’t deserve it.”

Your last comment, posted above, is pretty much what someone might consider an unnecessary poke in the eye.
To state that someone is ‘worshiping’ a candidate makes a claim that can’t be backed up, it just comes off as if you are ‘better’ (as it implies that you don’t/won’t do such a thing)and that never builds bridges.

For me, the apex was last weekend when the entire board was flooded with anti-Trump articles, posted back to back, all from NR. It was stifling in it’s attempt to make a point.

The real tell for me is exactly what created this thread, that being supporters of anyone but Trump are vehement in declaring they would never vote for another. That is absolutely their right to do so. What such a defiant declaration does, imho, is create a situation where the other person is left to defend their choice. Perfect recipe for disaster.

If rational people can make their case without assuming to know what’s in others mind (ie. worshiping), so much of this contention would ease up.

He was nominated by an ocean of totally corrupt Wall Street, K Street, US Chamber of Crony Commerce moolah to screw the general public and line the GOP-E fat pockets infinitely.

Why, you make Trump and Cruz appear cherubic in comparison. Thanks for the history lesson!

I could have sworn you had a cat.

Well, anyway, if your gerbil wins a brokered convention, I still might support him. But as I said — can’t make a promise in that case. Some brokered conventions might shove a #3 above #1. They should ‘broker’ through a followup support measurement of some kind so that there is someone with more than 50% support before its settled.

Brokering is a mess, especially if my cat or your hamster were involed. Who are the ticket splitters? Is the process being gamed? And who has longer whiskers?

Thank you. To even suggest Mrs. Cruz got the same amount of vile attention as Mrs. Palin is nuts.

The only thing it had to do with the campaign is that Sarah rejected Cruz for Trump. That’s the only thing and they decided to go bat-s*** crazy over it.

Snarkiness from a Cruz supporter I am shocked. You are probably right so he can continue his path to loser town.
