The more things change, the more they stay the same. Every major election cycle we end up with some pearl-clutchers who think that the world is allied against them, that only THEY and their political messiah of choice is the One True Defender of the Conservative Faith.
What I think is a little different this election cycle is the sheer amount of political money running around without much use. The TV ads aren’t working, and there are only so many pop ups to be bought. A poster upthread noted how certain accounts seem to post in coordination, but never post on holidays. Hmmmm.
The question we should all be asking is “who benefits” from the discord? I don’t think it’s either of the frontrunner candidates. Sooner or later they need to unify the conservative base in order to win. No, this stinks of gop-e or ‘rat operatives. And they’re going to try to cause as much damage as they can while they’re here or as they are summarily shown the door.
My suggestion to fellow posters is to take a few deep breaths. This election has been going in earnest for six months now and at this point, most of those posting here have their preferences set. And all the arguments any of us can muster are unlikely to change those preferences. We’re really just waiting to see who wins.

Great point. That is why the fighting over lots of duplicate topics and all the feuding over media inspired mud is a waste of time and done only to provoke the anger and fighting.
Minds are made up for the most part.
