Yeah, today there is a pecking order like that. A far cry from the original American vision which is like my second example. But that’s another consequence of walking away from any kind of sincere faith in Christ, a Christianity which isn’t an oxymoron. George Washington wasn’t perfect but he did refuse to be lionized because he knew God buttered his bread.
And here’s the irony. The sincere Christian model works all around. Even for things that liberals today claim that they want. If the society defended itself, it would then have more room for doing charity sanely, because it would never let the beneficiaries just walk away with the benefactors. Kind of like our problem with Mexico. Trump has no problem with helping Mexicans; he has a big problem with letting the situation overwhelm us, knowing that this isn’t good for anybody. Or like the rescue lifeguard who pins the arms of the rescued person because otherwise his mad thrashing would bring both down in the water.
