I do have evidence of the difference in the Cruz and Trump ground games....

Today I received a call from the Cruz campaign and reminding me of the Caucus on Monday and a very brief reason why I should vote for Ted Cruz. Pretty good as it was not too long and was informative.

Then I received a call from the Trump campaign. The volunteer calling was very nice, which surprised me. Based on the candidate and some of the posters I read here on FR I was expected her to call me stupid, fat ugly etc. She seemed nervous but was very nice. She told me my correct caucus location and asked if I was going. I assured her I was going and so was my wife. She said Oh great, two more.

She never asked who I was voting for so I assume to her that is two more in the Trump column, even though I am going to vote for Ted Cruz.

Since I have never missed a caucus I am called by every campaign multiple times a day/week. Congratulations to the Trump team ground game. I have now received as many calls from the Trump organization this entire campaign as I received from the Fiorina campaign TODAY. TWO calls.

I am sure Trump considers many things...losing is at the bottom of the list.

If he does lose and by more than a little bit, what would be the lessons learned? Will he blame others? Go after the media? That he did not fight hard enough and double down? Did his bullish tactics turn more away than his gain in support and we will see less temper tantrums?

I really don’t know and would not hazard a guess.

Even though I am not supporting or voting for him, I am curious about how capable is of self examination.

Trump has said this in his rallies since he started running.. he says it’s all a waste of time if he doesn’t win.. and he’s right

He is issuing a challenge to his supporters to make the effort on Monday.

The United Ignoramuses of America are going to spin it anyway they can to turn it into something it is not.

These threads are always a joy to enter and see there was nothing to the headline.

Thank you.

I saw the speech. He did say that. A good showing and popularity are worthless without winning the vote. All this work will have been a waste of his time, if he doesn’t win
NIce try Time. He's said that at almost every, if not every rally he's done.

Interesting ground report. I wonder if the callers are Iowans or out-of-state volunteers? It would be funny if the Cruz callers all had Texas accents and the Trump callers all had New York accents. Thanks for supporting Cruz. Not being from Iowa, I need all the surrogate voters on your end I can get.

I think this is an example of them having lists of possible voters for their candidate and just calling to remind them to vote without selling the candidate. Although that made more sense in the general election we were doing. You just call Republicans and tell them to vote. You don’t need to convince them to vote more McCain over Obama, hopefully.

Good point. I would hope that anybody on the planet not on the government dole has at least a modicum of it or they wouldn’t be where they are.

Exactly. This isn’t the first time he has said this or is it even news. Time mag is full of crap.

Forgot to add:

...if I don't win, maybe bad things happen.

To him?
To the nation?
To his enemies?

The article does not match the headline. Perhaps because the headline is meant to get clicks.

British bookies are betting on Trump. You should place a bet against Trump with them. With Cruz’s amazing ground game you will make a fortune!
