Cruz: Trump 'Owes At Least $480 Million Right Now' [VIDEO]
The Daily Caller ^ | January 31, 2016 | Derek Draplin

Posted on 01/31/2016 7:27:11 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Sen. Ted Cruz on Sunday accused front-runner Donald Trump of owing $480 million, noting "it could be billions."

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday" the Texas senator told host Chris Wallace that his own loans to run for senate were disclosed and also accused Trump of owing millions.

"If you look at his financial disclosure, he owes at least $480 million dollars right now, and it could be billions," Cruz told Wallace.

"He knows this loan story is completely nonsense," Cruz said. "It's also the height of hutzpah - for someone who owes hundreds of millions of dollars if not billions of dollars, to attack Heidi and me because we put our life savings into running for senate. And the statement that the loans weren't disclosed, he knows is flat out false. The loans were disclosed."

Wallace then pressed Cruz to explain what Trump owes.

"If you look at his financial disclosure, he owes at least $480 million dollars right now and it could be billions," Cruz told Wallace. "And by the way with loans when Heidi and I take loans, we pay them back."

"Donald's declared bankruptcy four times, and so for him to sit there owing hundreds of millions or billions or who knows, and to criticize Heidi and me for putting our entire net worth into the campaign is astonishing," Cruz said. "It is not honest, especially because the loans were disclosed, they were publicly disclosed at the time."

When you owe $100,000, the bank owns you; when you owe $100 million you own the bank

” He was much better 3 months ago.”

Well, one of the purposes of the campaign is to discover things about people they don’t tell you.

Cruz figures that in the last 24 hours before caucus he can shave some of Trump’s support or halt it with an ignorant accusation. It’s desperation hail Mary stuff.

What in the hell is Cruz thinking lately, borrowing money for business is totally different than TAKING money from donors to win a campaign!!! I really like Cruz but his legal speak is really starting to annoy me!! Every word is VERY CAREFULLY constructed before speaking I for one am just so damn sick to death of the PC crap in this country!!!!

Pledge your support for Cruz as payment for my research time and I’ll look it up for you.

Otherwise, do your own work and stop throwing out nonsense as if it was fact.

Mr. Trump has one of the least leveraged real estate developers that I have ever seen. It is notable that he spreads those liabilities out to several unrelated banks so he is not vulnerable to influence.

On his entire portfolio he only has a total of 17 loans and one of the largest loans on his balance sheet (Over 50M) is owed to a an LLC which Trump owns.

Trump says he owes a half a billion dollars. Actually $480 million. But what is 20 millions between New Yorkers.

From now on, we must only allow billionaires to run for President, because they don’t need to take loans for their campaigns and therefore are certain to represent the interests of the common voter. Makes perfect sense, don’t it? ================================================================== I believe I read somewhere that something like 63 people own half the world's wealth. I guess some want only whichever of those 63 that are eligible for the American presidency to run. When's Zuckerberg eligible to run?

Trump: Cruz is an anchor baby.

That's a 'Canadian anchor baby' CW

and

Trump: Cruz is a nasty person.

Looks the charge is likely right. Testimony has come out. And this campaign is the biggest thing Cruz has ever run and in charge of people that he gets to actually direct them.

So why hasn’t he repaid the loans? Setting up for another bankruptcy?

So why has Cruz still not reported the loans to the FEC? Hiding something?

CW loves to post this stuff every morning.

Trump understands something that our politicians do not. The man who owes you controls you.

For example, who has more power? You, the man who owes me $500,000,000,000 or me the guy who loaned you?

Or to put it more personally, who has more power? Me, the man who owes you $100,000 or you, the guy I owe it to?

Who has more power? You, who co-signed my $100,000 loan or me who owes the bank $100,000.

Trump understands the power of having leverage over those you owe.

I agree, Cruz got treated the same way Romney treated Newt with lies and rumors and half truths.

This is out of the democratic play book. Remember, Harry Reid saying Romney didn’t pay his taxes?

So when Cruz takes out a secured loan from Goldman Sachs, which he paid back in full, Trump says he is owned by the banks.

But when Trump takes out almost a half Billion dollars in loans it’s no big deal.

Truth is, in both cases it is no big deal. But this just illustrates the hypocrisy of Trump and his mudslinging.

Trump will say anything.
