Jeb Bush's supporters have spent $15 million on slickly produced ads to win over Iowa voters. Barely registering in the polls and increasingly desperate in the shadow of the Iowa caucuses, he's now trying a cost-free, personal tactic: hugs. [...]

Bush, once considered the Republican presidential front-runner, is doing whatever it takes to stay relevant in the 2016 contest.

And whether it's a friendly squeeze or a scathing attacks ad from his allies, he's showing no signs of going quietly. That's despite the wishes of some Republican strategists, who fear his underdog candidacy is making it harder for his party's mainstream wing to coalesce behind another candidate. ...

with his policies, my impression is that he may wish to consider running for the D party nomination

I think he’d do better if he only campaigned in Spanish from now on.

I certainly would love it, but I fear Huckabee or Christie or Paul or Santorum will come in last.

“All that wasted money.”

It’s not wasted, there’s soooo much more where it came from. These donors buy new luxury cars when the ashtrays in them get full!

I am getting tired of this “dynastic” push for office. Isn’t one president in the family not enough?

“I am getting tired of this “dynastic” push for office. Isn’t one president in the family not enough?”

Actually, in the case of the Booshes, one was too many. GHWB was a GOPe plant in the Reagan Administration. He and his mini-me “W” have worked like beavers to undo everything that RR did. Everyone said that W wasn’t smart, but they haddn’t seen Little Yebbie I guess. Florida voters must be on something. They voted for LIttle Yebbie , then followed him with “Orange Charlie” and Scott.

By who?

Besides The Cheap Labor Express

They thought they could buy the nomination for Yeb! to be The Designated Loser

Their goal is simply to prevent us from electing anyone who would stop them

Jeb needs to move on. The honorable thing to do is get out and endorse somebody else. Which would seem to be Rubio. He is the only guy the GOPe will find palatable with an outside chance to win. Christie as well.

To “stay” relevant? We’re a bit past that stage, aren’t we?

What? The joyful tortoise approach isn't working?

BTW, I love Jeb Bush threads. They are almost 100% abuse of Bush. I enter these threads with the same joyful exhuberance as when--as a boy--i ran towards a johnny pile, ready to throw myself on top.
