I'm sure you're familiar with the tactic of the Left of accusing their opposition of engaging in bad behaviors to deflect from their own behavior - like lying, influence peddling, and engaging in the politics of personal destruction.

Donald Trump:

Ted Cruz is a liar.

Ted Cruz is owned by banks.

Ted Cruz is a nasty guy.

Ted Cruz is an anchor baby.

Trump just tosses out lies (and "concerns") and the media runs with it.

-----

In line with Steve King's comments, I read that yesterday there was a "dust-up" between Donald Trump and Bob Vander Plaats.

.......Trump says that Vander Plaats, head of the Iowa-based Family Leader, asked him to stay in his hotels for free and also requested he speak at an event while seeking $100,000 for himself........

And some truth came from it:

Donald Trump attended - and TRUMP was paid $100K to give a keynote speech at the 2015 Iowa Land Investment Show - an appearance that Vander Plaats had requested. So Trump (as usual) calculated how to exact revenge on someone who supported Cruz and LIED in a *tweet* to his followers and to the media:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump @bobvanderplaats asked me to do an event. The people holding the event called me to say he wanted $100,000 for himself.Phony @foxandfriends 6:36 AM - 31 Jan 2016

**********************

Being curious, I looked for information on Trump's keynote speech and it is on YouTube: Donald Trump at 2015 Land Investment Expo. [I listened to part of it earlier, but when I went back to listen to more of it, I found that it isn't loading - perhaps it is a temporary "glitch."]

But what I did hear when the video was up, was Trump doing an 1:06:00 sit down interview where he is promoting himself, his buildings, his business success, his business genius - and during his monologue at the 7:15 mark into an hour appearance, he states out of the blue "I never went bankrupt, many people went bankrupt in the early 90s, I never did."

For the record Donald Trump filed for bankruptcy in 1991, 1992, 2004 and 2009 (you can quibble and deny it, saying they were business bankruptcies not a personal ones but this will shed some light on that dodge).

**********************************

But Trump's followers say it doesn't matter that he lies and holds liberal positions; all that matters is that he says that he is going to build a wall.

Why would anyone believe anything that Donald Trump says?

He can't even be honest about his finances - the "wealth" he brags about that represents "leadership" to his followers.

There is no leadership with Trump, there are only lies.

Then he cynically enlists his followers and the media to spread his lies.

What unbelievable contempt Trump must have for the "little people."

I had wondered if Trump was buying endorsements. It would not surprise me. The Falwell endorsement was unbelievable on its face. Donald Trump's personal life has been in flagrant contradiction to everything Liberty University professes. That Jerry Falwell's son would not only endorse him for President, but do so with a glowing testimonial on the character of the life he has led, beggars belief. My thought at the time was that "I hope it's a REALLY NICE building."

If Steve King has information, he should bring it forward.

I am really tired of this BS as many here were huge Palin fans. Now she and a famous religious leader’s son are among those who have been bought. This is really low. Politics has turned into pure filth and anyone who engages in this should be disqualified and fired.

Speaking of knowing things I wish Steve King knew how to get something down in Congress. He has that problem in common with his bud, Rafael.

says Donald Trump bought his endorsement

Rep King....you are a great guy, but being Captain Obvious doesn't suit you well. Anyone with a brain knows this. It's all about the Art of the Deal. Trump wrote that book.....,ask him.

I figured the Donald buying/bribing his way through the campaign goes without saying.

He's bragged about buying political favors from Hillary in the past. That's "good business", remember?

King makes a serious charge. If he doesn’t back it up with evidence, he is bearing false witness against Trump endorsees, and false witness is a shameful act.

Poor CW, her candidate sucks so bad all she can do is post bile lace tirades at the other candidates since she has nothing worthwhile she can say for her candidate.

Amen, Why would anyone believe anything Trump says? Carnival Barker has been on every side of issues that matter.
Gun Control
Immigration
Abortion

Was he lying then or is he lying now?

Here’s what I know Steve: Cruz is a lair who says one thing to pro amnesty Club for Growth and another to Wallbuilders anti amnesty. He is a lair who thinks I accept his “Ooops I didn’t know about the sweet deal bank loans my wife gave me” Cruz NEVER repudiated the support of anti- Catholic Pastor Swanson who wants Christians to execute gays because their existence offends him. I also know Cruz voted to help his buddy Corker make sure the Iran Nuke sell-out deal went through.

And I know Cruz was a Canadian longer than he has been a Republican. That’s what I know Steve.

As a Cruz supporter, if there is a “there” there, I wish Steve King could be more specific.
If he cannot, will we just get a big “I tried to warn y’all”
later?
We are getting to zero hour now.

I have two businesses. A business bankruptcy and a personal bankruptcy are NOT the same thing. Most people who read this completely understand what Trump is saying. One would be STUPID NOT to bankrupt their business if it's failing.

I’m sorry but when your every posts is an infantile screed at people instead of a rational reasoned argument for your candidate, it is impossible to take your posting seriously

Trump bought off Sheriff Joe.. Yeah. OK. It’s not that they were perfectly aligned on immigration or anything....

I really wish this Trump/Cruz bickering on this site would stop. Either of the two candidates is vastly superior to any GOP-e candidate and any Democrat.

It’s hard to vet a billionaire businessman. why?

Here is what I learned from his history. Being liberal at the time, there is no reason to doubt the NYT reporter?

My reply on another thread:

“Nothing has changed much...

NY Times 1983...

“His alternating skills of charming some individuals and riding roughshod over others has earned Donald Trump a reputation in some quarters as someone not to be trusted. He reneged, for example, on a promise to donate to a museum the Art Deco bas- reliefs on the facade of Bonwit Teller’TMs - bulldozed to make way for Trump Tower. It was a sin deemed unforgivable by landmark preservationists. But the only negative comments about Donald Trump these days are given off the record. [WHY - I wonder?]”

Remember the threat from Trump’s lawyer to kelly? He has apologized but lawyers threatening to destroy someone sounds like they would do a great job within the department of injustice specifically targeting employees at the VA. Why aren’t there more whistleblowers?

To quote Daniel Moynihan's famous line, "You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts."

It is hardly a quibble, denial or dodge to correctly read the U.S. bankruptcy law and conclude that Trump's statement was correct and referred to personal bankruptcy during a severe market downturn when many were forced to declare personal bankruptcy, as even the link you provided explains. He did not file for personal bankruptcy, nor did his parent corporation, the Trump Organization.

What occured were legal business debt restructurings. Words have meaning. Those words mean something limited and specific to persons with business knowledge and experience. They do not mean what you are futilely striving to imply. Go back and read the article you linked again and again until you get it; because clearly you are pouncing upon innuendo and wishful thinking out of a demonstrated animus, giving your posts a reputation for unverifiable or misleading claims.
