In short, it kinda takes care of the low informational voter who shows up knowing nothing. This person will be swayed like a turd in the ocean.
I think overall this is a good thing, because people listen, learn and talk about it.
How will this pan out? I think over all it plays AGAINST someone like TRUMP. When it comes time to vote, Iowans vote for the "best person" based on Judeo-Christian values. USUALLY THE GUY WHO VISITS ALL PRECINCTS AND COUNTIES AND SHAKES HANDS.
I think Carson and Paul will do better than expected. I think Trump will do much worse and probably tie to Cruz.
If I'm wrong, and Trump wins big, then it puts these Caucuses on their ear. Trump's approach, come to me. Sure, there have been big rallies, but the biggest have been in the tri or quad city areas. I contend that many of these people are not from Iowa.
I'm hoping for Trump. I want him to win, even by one vote, but it looks like a long shot at the moment.
The latest polls seem to show a virtual 3-way tie among Trump, Cruz, and Rubio.
Are you referring to that BS poll that came out late last night from some unknown pollster? Nate Silver put out a tweet on that operation. Even so, that was great news for Trump because is showed him in the lead with the tightest screen criteria possible: are you definitely voting and what is the address of your caucus location. There was only one more question left to get Trumps numbers down: “Are you voting for Trump, if so, you are excluded from poll”
Things have been relatively calm in the world and here. Iowans will vote their heart not with their anger.
I say it will be in this order:
1. Cruz
2. Paul
3. Carson
4. Rubio
5. Trump
I hope I am wrong, but I will assure you that if Trump loses or does poorly, he will be even more determined.
In Iowa if Trump loses or does poorly it’s because:
1. Use of foul language at Rallies
2. Going over the top when his opponent was already beating, piling on of Cruz and Bush I think went over board.
3. Going after people like Bob Vander Platts was ill advised.
4. Missing the Last Debate
5. Not spending more time in the street, walking the precincts and meeting people face to face
6. Not convincing people that he holds conservative values esp with the choices for SCOTUS. I think of all, yes all, issues for conservatives we want to be assured that the next 3 to 4 judges will be like Clarence Thomas.
7. In the end the media locally and nationally worked hard behind the scenes to undermine his campaign
8. Did not have the best ground game
9. Did not have many people in gov’t supporting him.
10.Is a New Yorker.
If Trump wins or does well it’s because of 1 to 10 above.
Then you haven’t heard about Trump’s ground game.
If I heard correctly, he has 25,000 volunteers going door to door.....
...and also phoning.....and leaving doorknob flyers at homes...
He has been doing this under the radar!

There have been like two or three that came out. If you believe the Luntz group, the Iowan voter will go again to the most Christian candidate.
I think Trump will do poorly. Carson and Paul better than expected. Cruz might win it in the final hour dispite having Glenn Beck with him.
Good news, if Cruz wins, then Beck will stay in, and Beck doesn’t play in Peoria.

I can’t recall Trump really going after Rubio. That could cost him in Iowa. A lot of people just don’t know Rubio’s record, IMO.
Correct. It's been fun doing these because I've learned a lot about Iowa. It's almost like little Greek city states between two rivers. You learn about people from this rural area. There's a movie about the Sullivans, but could never get the nerve to watch it.

Watched Luntz Group last night. I say this respectfully, Iowans are weird. To hear them talk I think they’re all born under the sign of Aires and Taurus...they sound stubborn and stupid as hell.... lol
These are not low informational voters...just the opposite they are high informational voters.
Trump is bringing the guy and gal who have never caucused before. They’re going to get eaten up by their neighbors.
Santorum and Huckabee wasted their money and time. Would have loved to seen them endorsing Trump instead of their endless vanity tours.

The five Sullivan brothers were killed in action during the sinking of the USS Juneau(CL-52) on Nov. 13, 1942 during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal.
A movie about their lives and deaths was made in 1944, The Fighting Sullivans. I must have watched that movie 100 times as a kid.
Well, I know Grant Wood and American Gothic - the rest... don’t know. Serial killers aren’t my thing.

I’ll be happy to see Iowa in the rear view mirror.
If Trump loses Iowa, he still is front runner for nomination. If Cruz loses Iowa, he is probably finished. I would like Cruz to stay in longer and continue to block Rubio, so I am okay with a Cruz win in Iowa. But keep this in mind, Trump hates losing. He has kept his ground game secret, just like he said he would his generals. Everyone who has doubted him has been wrong. I believe he wins by 4. But he may win by 10+.

They are there because they never had a reason to do so before because of the apathy of meaningless candidates that just offered pandering tours. Most are now energized because someone finally came along and emphatically voiced their concerns that nobody else was giving any mention of until Trump joined the fray.
I would counter that these new folks will be able to present fresh observations that most “dyed in the wool” party people never see because of the establishment template of anybody besides a Dem attitude, no matter how credible they are to their word. What we know now is that all establishment pol’s words are not worth the price of free TV and radio to listen to.

The're so stubborn they can stand touching noses for a week at a time and never see eye to eye. They can also be as cold as they're falling thermometers in December if you ask about the weather in July.
