Assuming that the “Carson’s leaving” story had an impact, why does everyone assume that none of those voters went to Trump or Rubio? And how is it that Carson actually outperformed his pre-caucus polling despite it?

I think Trump would have won but for the Carson nonsense.

Cruz only got one more delegate than Trump.

The reality is that Cruz team saw an opening and pounced on it. It’s dirty politics..and the way the game is played.

Keep in mind a young man died helping team Carson out in Iowa just a few short weeks ago. What team Cruz did is despicable and worthy of him losing his delegates.
