Cruz: Media, Establishment’s ‘Chosen One’ Rubio Is Unelectable Like Dole, McCain, Romney
Breitbart ^ | 5 Feb 2016 | Michelle Moons

Posted on 02/05/2016 6:14:26 AM PST by detective

At a Thursday event in Weare, New Hampshire, presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) labeled opposing candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) as the media-anointed "chosen one" for the GOP establishment but ultimately unelectable like prior failed nominees.

“I agree that Rubio is bad news.
I don't agree that he's unelectable, which is double bad news.”

Rubio’s only support is through the media. If he gets the nomination the media will turn on him and the Democrat candidate will win easily.

I hate that as much as you do. I hope you didn't see my post as some kind of proof that I like him, because I don't. Not one bit.

As I said, our problem is he IS electable.

He is the last great hope of the GOPe, a bought and paid for amnesty shill who looks pretty, talks pretty and is likable.

I’ve come to think Rubio will win the nomination in the end. He appears to the the average of the field. I sure hope not.

I didn’t see it as that and I’m sorry if that’s what you felt. There is no way in cowboy hell I would ever vote for this man.

I am for Trump and will vote for him in my primary but vote for Cruz in the general election if that’s the choice.

To my mind, Cruz is not unhinged about Rubio. I consider him a dangerous Amnesty Snake and I don’t trust him one damned bit. I would never vote for Rubio.

Agreed. The guy worries me. Such a snake.

I just wanted to make sure, you know how muddled communication can get, yes?

I was actually hoping that Jeb would stay weak, but strong enough to divide up the Floriduh vote so Rubio could not win there.

And yes, I wear a tin foil hat a lot......

:-)

Cruz is absolutely right on Rubio, but he needs to look in the mirror too. I like Cruz, but don’t think he has the broad appeal that will help him cross the finish line. Time will tell.

I want both Jeb and Rubio destroyed.

Neither of those dem candidates is going to win easily.

They are in heap big trouble.

I tried to listen to Hildabeast's victory speech after Iowa.

Good grief, her voice....

When she speaks normally, she bores paint drying on the wall. When she is animated she sounds like the wicked witch of the west.

I got thirty seconds in, hoping to laugh, then turned it off to go take a shower. I do believe this: everyone......even the dem voters.....see and hear the same thing.

I don’t think Rubio is unelectable, especially with a solid choice for VP. The one who’s most electable is Trump. If Sanders doesn’t get the nomination, all of those voters who want a non-mainstream candidate will go to Trump.

Jeb is done. He's pathetic as a candidate.

Let's hope Rubio goes the same way.

I fear the dreaded two way race, with Rubio as one of the two left. Egads, all that GOPe money.

He’d be in great shape were it not for the Gang of Eight attempted sellout. That effectively ended his career, and everyone knows it.

Or it is looking again like we could get a three-way split between Trump, Cruz and Rubio. In a brokered convention could the GOPe resist one more chance to shove Jeb down our pieholes?

I wish that on no one.

But in this case, I can be convinced to make an exception....

Well, it's possible, like anything is possible.

The greater probability in a brokered one is they pick Rubio.

Jeb is a bad candidate, he really is, I think the donors and elites even know that.

He's been unmasked. If nothing else, even if he doesn't win, I'll appreciate Trump for exposing that sad truth.

Rubio needs a similar exposing, and it will be trickier to do so.

Okay, here is where I agree with Cruz. Rubio is unelectable and it is completely shocking to me that the great GOP has such a leadership vacuum. Where are the candidates from OUTSIDE politics, great leaders, great communicators, achievers? They are out there, but the GOP and the MSM don’t want that — they want a little weenie they can manipulate and order around. Thus Rubio. And, btw, THUS TRUMP. Cruz is an insider, too, and will never make it to the OO.
