It was my understanding that the remittances would be permitted to go through minus a “fee” collected by the transmitting agency. Those are the funds that would pay for the wall. I could be wrong, but I think I read that somewhere.

Carlos Slim owns the telecommunications monopoly for Mexico and he charges very high fees for calls coming in from the U.S., making him one of, if not the richest man in the world.

Trump isn’t considering doing anything to illegal and legal immigrants that Mexican citizens aren’t already doing to them.

Making a deal with Mexico to not do that if they agree to certain terms and conditions (such as working on wall construction) carries with it an admission that we’re not going to enforce the law or pay attention to illegals currently in the country
Whose wet dream is that? I've never heard anyone say anything serious about using Mexican labor.

The US unions would never stand for it anyway.

Mexicans are hard workers but their overall craftsmanship leaves a lot to be desired.

And how exactly would the source of the money be detected at the point of transfer?
You don't know how therefore it isn't possible...Got it.

And have the IRS look into it. Any money not reported as income, seize it. Wall to Wall.

Money is better leverage than even military power.

In this case, yes.

How are you going to track electronic transactions?

By DISALLOWING All Currency Exchanges that are not accompanied with a valid FEDERAL TAX RETURN or some variation.

This is EASY and Requires NO LEGISLATION, It can be done with a SIMPLE RULE CHANGE at the Administration Level;.

Well, go hide under your bed, Trump will do it without your approval or help.

So if I want to send money to someone through Paypal (and all the other myriad online payment services), what documentation are you going to require? I have to supply a tax return? My SSN?
And if the payment service based outside the US, how are you going to enforce this requirement?

There are endless of ways for Mexico to pay for it and really never know they are paying for it and probably not all at once. At least until they look at their balance of trade after the first year of a Trump presidency. The Donald will probably have someone on his staff adding and subtracting entries in a secret spreadsheet until they get to the magic $8 billion. Then He’ll have a press conference holding up the chart.

Well to start with NONE, However MEXICO WILL NOT BE ABLE to Turn Them in to the Fed. Which means they will become WORTHLESS in MEXICO.

Three actions will clear it all up...

#1. If you are here illegally and we catch you, you go to jail.

#2. If you employ an illegal and we catch you, you both go to jail.

#3. If you rent/sell housing to an illegal and we catch you, you both go to jail.

The illegals will leave en masse.

When the Mexican government sees that coming, they'll get a hold of Trump to see when they can get started on building the wall.

“Remittances sent home by Mexicans working outside the country...”

Could be their welfare checks, etc, also. They are a huge drain on taxpayers.

Trump knows leverage. A 10% surcharge, made payable to “The Wall” fund ought to do the trick. Now they may want to send cash via post, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Lots of mail gets lost ya know.

95 percent of that money is untaxed income from people working here illegally. I think that ought to cover the wall that will keep them in Mexico when we send them back.
