Will they Cruzify Ted?
The Spectator ^ | 2/11/16 | David Flint

Posted on 02/11/2016 4:42:57 AM PST by TBBT

The progressive elites will try to do to Cruz what they did to Abbott

The American mainstream media, the Republican Party establishment and the Democratic Party are determined that Ted Cruz not be sworn in as the 45th president.

Anyone with that opposition must be formidable.

That he is. Campaigning against Federal ethanol subsidies in Iowa, a major corn producing state, and against all poll predictions, Cruz defeated the media's favourite, Donald Trump, receiving more votes than any Republican candidate ever had. Cruz is the candidate most motivated by his attachment to traditional American principles. For his opponents, these are principles to which lip service only should be accorded these days. But the principles under which a Cruz administration would operate are the very ones on which the American Republic was founded.

Cruz does not merely mouth the proposition that all men have been endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, he lives by this. As Texas Solicitor General he had been one of America's most successful public constitutional lawyers, with a string of successes in the Supreme Court. Having memorised it while still a schoolboy, the Constitution remains his guide to the good governance of the Union. By this he means the Constitution according to the original intention of the Founding Fathers, not that fictional 'living organism' which is the tool of activist judges who claim it means whatever they want it to mean.

Obama had a sing song that tended to put people into a trance. Some people just have that gift.

What do you find about Cruz that is creepy? Is it his looks, his voice, his beliefs?

It was a lighthearted comment about his sister. What did you want him to say, “I’d never appoint my sister to the SCOTUS?”

These things alone should be enough to lead conservatives to oppose Trump. But cultists are unable and/or unwilling to listen to reason. Dear leader has no clothes, but when the Trumpsheep look at him, they can't see the ravenous wolf. They see another sheep, just a louder, fatter one.

I give you credit for your ability to ridicule, in a funny way, a whole class of the electorate that might have to vote for your guy in a general election. I don't give you any credit for your inability to grasp the concept of irony. Damn funny though.

The "President Camacho" wing of the Republican Party.....And which one is that?

I'll give you a clue.....He is a thrice married, professional wrestler who swears all the time and calls people "pussies". Do you have any guesses?

Ah no. Only Trump seems creepy to me. They rest are Rinos. Trump is a big ego fake. He could not care less about you or anyone but himself. That has always been the case. You people act like he just showed up on the scene. He has been the crepiest, flip flopper and outright Trumpcare, raise taxes, ok with Homosexual marriage, among many other conservative principles and you people blow by that with typical liberal argument of “wow he is creepy, and I don’t like the way this one looks and that one acts. You take Trump at his word even though in the past he has been adamantly opposite. God forbid Trump should win the nomination because you people have a big disappointment coming. Then you can rationalize it away for at least 4 years...

They don't have much to worry about.

At what point does the absurdity become over the top even to a Cruz supporter, or is that even possible?

It appears not.

Is that why you are here? To attack fellow conservatives?

Trump says Hillary is evil. Trump supported and donated to Hillary. Therefore Trump, by his own admission, facilitated evil.

He can always say it was blackmail. Which, with what we know about The Klintonx, may have been entirely true.

Cost of doing business in Noo Yokk.

Cruz’ campaign manager Jeff Roe had played that same dirty trick before back in Missouri. It is just part of who they are... And they give themselves a pass because they are such good and devout people.

Appears your mind is in the gutter.

Natch, I've been reading your stuff. Powerpack of innuendo. So ... is this a problem? Are you able to control it, or do you feel an occasional need to .... you know ... blurt things out?

I'm not going to stand by and smile while these talkers take their potshots. Rush and his crack about Trump renting out rooms overlooking the border wall, and Levin with his lunatic rants for weeks against Trump as he tries to prop up Cruz are too much for me.

If you support Cruz, fine. I can respect that and I'd vote for him in the general. But I won't remain silent as Mark Levin goes full hack against Trump for weeks on end. I listened to him for years at WABC and enjoyed him, but he has really gone off the rails.

persecution - hostility and ill-treatment, especially because of race or political or religious beliefs.

Yup, I would say Ted is being persecuted.

I would add slander...libel...defamation. But we just call it ‘politics’.

100% agree with you. If Trump wins the next 4 years will actually be very amusing watching his supporters try to obsolve him of all his actions.
