Recent EO’s (and laws?) have given the President carte blanche power to do anything under the name of National Security. Using that excuse, he answers to no one. He can detain anyone for any amount of time without due process, he can end lives of anyone if he terms them terrorists or a threat to national security.
At least, this has been my understanding. I haven’t kept track of each EO and law. I remember reading there are secret courts and secret detention centers world-wide.
So, if he says something with confidence, I wouldn’t be quick to disbelieve it. We live under Tyranny.
