I feel your pain. I paid my legally court ordered child support in the wrong manner said the State. They disallowed my receipts, took me to court and I had to pay back $28K in back support that I already paid. Seems that my ex told the state I wasn’t paying. I thought it was a joke, I had cancelled checks. For those women that think they get the money, WRONG. If you are drawing welfare, food stamps, and medical, the state keeps the money....WOMAN, YOU DUN GOT URS is the legal term I think.

My sympathies. The fraud ought to have HER in serious dutch, but often the governing laws get drawn up as knee jerks, not without serious thought. Still, it besmirches the state to enable that. Not just you.
EXACTLY! I too was a divorced mom before the days of draconian CS laws (in which the feds pays the states a kickback for most CS collected)
