US warplanes carried out airstrikes early Friday morning in the western Libyan city of Sabratha (also Sabratah or Siburata), where Islamic State militants operate, killing as many as 40 people.
A US military spokesman said the attacks targeted a senior Tunisian militant linked to attacks in Tunisia last year.
Sabratha's mayor, Hussein al-Thwadi, told Reuters the planes struck at 3:30 a.m. (8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday), hitting a building in the Qasr Talil district in which foreign workers were living.
He said 41 people had been killed and six wounded.
The death toll could not immediately be confirmed with other officials.

Who are these "foreign workers"?
This is very similar to the war against Hamas after they hit Israel with deadly rocket attacks.
When several Hamas fighters are killed --- the reports inevitably say -- X PALESTINIANS killed.
Wow 40 ...that’ll set ‘em back years.
And, because “People died” Obola’s White House will now limit US military strikes even further. Can’t have that during wartime, ya know.
(We already call the targets and tell them to leave the building before shooting, dropping a bomb, or shooting a missile. We tell truck drivers to leave their $5,000.00 truck before shooting a $150,000.00 missile at it. But only if there will be no buildings damaged around the truck!)

We could use an American aircraft to kill a Tunisian in Libya but we couldn’t use American aircraft to kill the Libyans who were busy killing Americans at Benghazi?

And here all of that was contained under Kaddafi. Turning Kaddafi into a US asset was one of the few worthwhile accomplishments of the Bush 43 administration. That entire episode was an Obama administration series of warcrimes.

That’s good and everything but we should be reading reports like this every other day.
And no mention was made of the “carbon footprint” left by this assault on the defenders of Libya.
The very idea of even mounting any military action using all the “rules of engagement” and “fair warning” to the targets the military is now encumbered with is laughable, or it would be if the consequences were not so dire.
Never go in to WIN a military engagement, that would mean that eventual victory were possible, and that would only crumble the opponents’ self-esteem and morale.
I for one want to CRUSH any “self-esteem” these devious and crafty death worshipers may have adopted for themselves.

That’s a very specific number. I call BS.
It must be said. Under today’s “rules of engagement” General Eiasenhower would be court-martialed because he ordered the BOMBING of cities and locations at critical areas along the French Coast on June 6, 1944. Civilians were killed in the bombings..citizens of an ally.
General Curtis LeMay would be next as he thought of, planned and ordered the fire bombing of Japanese cities, thus killing thousands of civilians.
Then the Admiral who ordered “Commence Firing” as the U.S.Navy shelled countless locations on Okinawa.
At one time American Lives Mattered..long time ago.
That's good and everything but we should be reading reports like this every other hour of every day.
Guaranteed they were women and children so we can apologize and send them more money and supplies.
