Manny Pacquiao posts Bible verse that states gay people should be killed [Luke 6]

Manny Pacquiao is not backing down from his stance against homosexuality. Less than a day after the Filipino boxer and politician lost his sponsorship deal with Nike because he compared gay people to animals, Pacquiao took to Instagram early Thursday morning and posted some Bible verses that support his views. One of them, Leviticus 20:13, states in no uncertain terms that homosexuals should be killed:

"If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

Pacquiao's post was up for about two hours and got more than 18,000 likes before being deleted. The Filipino news agency ABS-CBN captured a screenshot of the post before it was removed. Pacquiao, a member of the Philippines' House of Representatives, included other Bible verses in his post, including Luke 6:22-23, an apparent reference to his current situation:

"Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets."

Pacquiao was one of several candidates for the Philippine Senate who recently were asked their views on same-sex marriage during a recent interview broadcast by the Filipino television network TV5...

Yet again, the Bible is considered hate speech by liberal companies like Facebook, Instagram, and others. Liberals/progressives hate Jesus Christ and His words, so it is not surprising that they hate Manny Pacquiao for following Christ and His words. Like Manny Pacquiao, all of us will be forced to either gain Christ Jesus, or gain the world. By gaining Christ and eternal life, we must stand for truth and reject evil. To gain the world, all we must do is go along with the Zeitgeist. Gaining the world is temporal and ends in hell. Gaining Christ is eternal and never ends...

Luke 6: 22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. 23 "Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets."

He’s doing something strange these days:

He’s SHOWING COURAGE.

He’s sticking to his guns.

Never was a fan, but now I AM.

Misusing it should be considered heinous by Christendom. There’s probably very few worse ways to witness.

As with most left wing companies like Nike, the irony is very rich. They have no problem using SLAVE LABOR to make their sneakers, but hey, if you stand for marriage you are morally unworthy of representing the company.

But this can’t be. You mean he hasn’t groveled and begged the homonazis for mercy like Republicans would have done?

Reminds me of the time Apple’s CEO Tim Cook got all huffy and tried to boycott Indiana for passing a law protecting Christians from being jailed and bankrupted for not participating in gay weddings. Yet he still does business in Saudi Arabia where they throw gays off buildings.

He’s tickling his own fancy, too.

Unforgivable, no.

Inexcusable, yes.

We have a single country, Israel, set up as a purposed fusion of the holy and the earthly. It also called for stoning Sabbath breakers and all adulterers not just this kind of adulterer. There was a loop hole, though; no stoning took place without two witnesses. Sufficiently private sin could go on and on this way and only when it became publicly flagrant enough did it get the stoning.

Other countries are bidden to follow in the pattern of the Noahide law and are indeed bidden to forbid adultery but not by treating it like bloodshed is treated, which is with the option of bloodshed as penalty. There have been no updates to this.

People really make the bible both harder and crueler than God ever intended.

Wasn’t there a year in which Nike paid Jordan more money than ALL of the manual workers they employ in Indonesia to make their shoes COMBINED..?

I heard that about 14 years ago.

We’re in a totally different dispensation from when those words were written (not that God changes).

The Age of Grace has brought about many to be saved who used to be homosexual.

Well, I’m glad Pacquiao has made his wealth. He can say what he wants and the homonazis can’t hurt him financially

Leviticus 20:13, states in no uncertain terms that homosexuals should be killed:

So, since it's Old Testament, is he questioning why the Israelites aren't doing their job?

I don’t believe that homosexual people should be killed.

If I believe someone should be killed, then shouldn’t I be man enough to kill that person myself? Why should I expect someone else to do it for me?

So considering that, am I going to go out and kill gay people because I don’t support what they do? No.

Now, in another scenario, if I had a child and someone molested my child, then my answer is different. Then I got a problem that needs solving.

I was wondering if there were any pro point guards, running backs, or wide receivers that are Muslim that have rich sponsorship deals.

Good for Manny, but he really should have clarified his Leviticus quotes.
Yes, God gave a command to the Hebrew people to kill the homosexuals in their midst. He also gave them commands to kill those that committed bestiality, to kill adulterers, to kill those that dishonored their parents, and those that broke the Sabbath.
The key point is not the 'putting to death', but to show that God abhors sin, and that God had set the Hebrew Nation apart to be a special people. The Hebrews were to be a sign to the world. The Canaanites of the land did commit these types of sins, and God was going to punish them and give the land to the Hebrews.

Flash forward nearly a couple thousand years, and God the Son still abhors sin - but He shows His mercy: 'Go and Sin nor more' is what He told the woman caught in adultery.
So it was good for Manny to highlight the heinousness of the sin of homosexuality - but He also should have highlighted that God is merciful. God the Son, Lord Jesus, came to save sinners. The time to repent is now. If not, there will be a final accounting for those willful sinners that will make the stonings of the Old Testament seem like mild wedgies.
