The real question is - How many of those 14,000 homicides were committed by registered Democrats ?
Estimates are 80 % of the 14,000 homicides (not suicides or accidents) are gang related. The USA really doesnt have a gun violence problem (yes I hate that term too) so much as it has a criminal minorities with guns problem. If you could eliminate gang gun violence, the USA become the most peaceful country in the world by a large margin. Bloomturd is batshit crazy but he is right about disarming minorities to drastically reduce crime. Of course he wants to disarm everyone and the minorities are just to get the process rolling.
Most gun deaths are suicides. 19,392 in the U.S. in 2010, per Harvard Magazine article *here*. So if they're right, there are more people killing themselves, killing each other in criminal gang activity, or killed by police- including witnesses against police misconduct- than otherwise.
And if potential victims were armed, some, possibly many murder-suicides and spree murders would simply be justifiable homicides.
