The previous debate (which Trump boycotted) was much more civilized and informative.
Trump's foreign policy would be a disaster because, in a meeting with a representative of a foreign country who wants a real discussion, he would be playing reality show host, cussing and fuming at them continually (a leopard can't change its spots). Yes, Trump said the border should be secured and illegals sent back; that has some merit even as a questionable goal. But he is a one-trick pony with no other agenda to speak of -- no knowledge that I can see regarding what government is or how a government is run. His idea of Conservatism is a joke ('conserve your money'). He is all over the map with his policy ideas -- for something and again against it.
Closing the borders and deporting illegals is not going to do any good if we don't very soon get back to following our laws and the Constitution. All other considerations, wants, and needs should be secondary to that. What I like about Cruz (and there are some things I don't like) is that he is consistent in what he believes needs to be done, and he is a strong Constitutionalist. He wants to get us back to the days before Obama, Bush, Clinton, Johnson, Roosevelt (both of them), and Wilson who all have been shredding the Constitution little by little until it is no longer recognizable as a guide to governing. If we don't govern by the Constitution (with any properly added amendments necessary for our times), then we might as well forget about borders and deporting, because we will tear ourselves apart internally and die a slow socialist death by anarchy and economic ruin.

How is that a questionable goal??? No borders, no country. Isn't Cruz's position the same regarding the border?
Cruz absolutely cannot lose SC.
It is full of evangelicals.
He has a great ground game in place.
One of the polls already shows him ahead.
Trump has virtually no chance in SC, whatsoever.
Our laws say that people shouldn't be here illegally. Trump is the one who started the push to enforce those laws.

I am pro Cruz however in foreign policy or other it is sophomoric at best to project Trump as being like a reality show or cussing at foreign leaders. Come on. Grow up.
He does love this country and would represent well. Also he will find talented folks to replace Muzzies like Brennen and others who will be fired. I’d suggest some be hanged as traitors.

This seems like a philosophical disagreement. The author is willing to go with yet another ‘outsider’ career political operative who promises the world and delivers nothing of substance (and on occasion, votes and amendments that border on betrayal).

Not quite. Cruz is for building a wall, tripling the boarder patrol, work place enforcement, no welfare, etc.
I have never heard him say we should round up 11 million (more like 20+ million) illegals and deport them.
But he does believe that the measures he is proposing would cause illegals to self-deport by the millions.

It’s as if Trump never wrote a book entitled The Art of the Deal. ‘Cussing and fuming,’ is not Trump’s MO for negotiating a good deal.
The credibility of Trump’s detractors is in the basement...and sinking toward the sub-basement.
