Bret Easton Ellis: Hollywood Players in the Closet for Trump
Breitbart ^ | 2/21/2016 | DANIEL NUSSBAUM

Posted on 02/21/2016 4:43:26 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Hollywood figures are secretly throwing their support behind Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, says author Bret Easton Ellis.

The American Psycho author and cultural critic said he was "shocked" that most of his companions at a dinner in West Hollywood Saturday night indicated they would vote for the billionaire businessman in 2016, even though they "would never admit it publicly."

Ellis, who is currently prepping a Broadway adaptation of American Psycho, has not yet indicated who he will be voting for in this year's presidential race. In August, the writer called the "political theater" surrounding Trump "thrilling," and said the businessman was "destroying the G.O.P. and terrifying the U.S. press."

A representative for Ellis did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

While Democrats Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)have drawn their share of Hollywood endorsements, Trump has a sizable contingent of celebrity firepower backing his campaign. Musicians Kid Rock and Loretta Lynn have both said publicly they'll be voting for Trump in November, while actors Kirstie Alley, Stephen Baldwin, and Lou Ferrigno have also indicated their support for the candidate.

Trump also has several sports figures in his corner, including Mike Tyson, Terrell Owens, and former NFL player and Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka.

Ditka is definitely the brains of that group.

Always important to remember this is THEIR doing. We did our part and they didn't bring the goods.

I’m hearing similar things from all economic levels in this country. There are a lot of secret Trump supporters out there.

I’ve heard that there are truck docks and stops where it’s all Trump all the time. Same for lots of construction labor, and middle managers.

The winner of the R nomination wins in November, no matter which candidate takes it.

Ditka was put in a hard position.

I blame Jack Ryan — if he would have married the first blonde preceding 7 o’ Nine on that show he would be winding up his second term as President.

..but no, he had to go for the good girl..

Many people do not understand that Trump has massive support from blacks. He is friends with P. Diddy, and he is name-dropped in hip-hop records.

Trump will easily break-even with Hillary on the black vote, and she doesn't have enough numbers from far-leftists like the homosexual and environmental lobbies to defeat Trump.

Just look at South Carolina.

I was down there visiting my son this past week.

The voters were like rabid dogs just waiting for the precincts to open so they could vote. And a $hit ton of them too !

It's telling, as DT is getting it from across all the spectrum's.

I was shocked to see that much anticipation / participation.

I heard Trump say in one of his numerous interviews that he received calls from many in Holly wood who were supporting him, but, couldn’t do it openly because their jobs were at stake. Isn’t that sad?

It is sad. Larry Elder used to have Out of the Hollywood Closet day on his radio show sometimes, asking people who work in the movie and tv industry to call in if they were a closet conservative. Tons of industry employees from all walks would call up anonymously. They all had the same story: they had to go along with their lib bosses or they knew they would never be hired again.

They could never put a bumpersticker on their cars for their R candidate. There was and is a total blacklisting in Hollywood against people who vote right of center. They gush and sob over communists being blacklisted in the 50s but they think NOTHING of refusing to hire “right wing racists” which is what they think everyone is if they don’t vote their way. You can come out as ANYTHING in Hollywood but conservative.

Brilliant. Very sad but true. Liberalism is a mental disorder, since liberalism believes that hating conservatives and Christians makes a person more liberal and more good. it is really sick and people in Hollywood and media are tired of it.
