Who would have thought 6 months ago when in mass on FR illegals were “wetbacks” and now to cover Trump’s rump they are suddenly “deserving immigrants”. How convenient.
My illegals solution would be to enforce prohibition of employing any illegal under the law, turn off the welfare to anyone not in the country legally and requiring (as most countries do) a US Citizen to sponsor and be financially responsible for the persons they sponsor, including Green Cards. Next require anyone applying for a Green Card to have a verifiable job offer. For Visa overstayers, they are immediately expelled when found and forbidden from any Visa or legal re-entry for a set number of years.
Employment cutoff (heavy fines for employers) and zero welfare will cause most of the illegals to go back home, as it will much easier to live cheap in Mexico.
Green cards are limited to 1 year and require personal re-application as well as a verifiable employer. Green card does not include family.
Resend Anchor Baby law as it applies only to anyone brought to USA as a slave (original intent) and because the law has outlived it purpose as any descendent of a slave and born in USA is now a citizen. Only persons born in the US to legal immigrants being here longer than 1 year are US Dual Citizens by birth, and no anchoring for any family member.
I like many aspects of your thoughtful solution. It would go a long way toward cleaning up and codifying the morass that is our so-called immigration “system”. However, the stark reality is that the GOP controlled congress will water down every attempt to implement a lot of your good and workable proposals. And I don’t believe that either Rubio or Cruz would be adroit enough or sufficiently committed to overcome this resistance and that of the US Chamber of Commerce. Trump seems to be the only viable person to reform the system. Granted, we don’t really know the details yet but, while his particular implementation may not achieve all your constraints it would probably be a big improvement over the current mess. At this point, half a loaf is better than none.

And all the while, we're also having to deal with the fact that lying Hillary continues to slip/slide away from prosecution -and then the death of our dear Justice Scalia this month followed up with sneaky Obama already pushing for a nominee - then all of this followed up with no relief yet from murderous, raping illegals sneaking in - - then to make matters even worse, we're all having to comtemplate what the heck is going to happen if/when Obama sends hundreds of islamic rapefugees to (our own town) cities everywhere ///

Many of us do seem to be on edge; I know I have been edgy the last few days and I'm trying to stop being a bit on the rude side to fellow posters; I propose that it would be very beneficial for those of us who are feeling edgy and "pissed"...to take a big breath and to calm down by leaving our computers for a whole evening for instance, and drive off to our local dairy queens,for an ice cream or soda and/or just go to a movie. Anyway - just sayin'....

All I know about Trump’s Military plans is that he was a Draft Dodger during Vietnam. Google has at least 4 pages of articles on it.
Rubio is a joke with his Pro Amnesty anti Death Penalty views as a Roman Catholic. In fact the RC church has been the prime supporters of illegals and refugees. Receiving Billions of US tax $$ to do so.
