I have not received a warning and am still here.

The reason I have calmed down is the attacks on me have gone away.

Do you want to start them back up. If you do I can go nasty again.

If you do not then I suggest lay off of me and go your own way

I never got nasty with you in the first place... but I am using you as an example of a person who has been extremely obnoxious and disruptive. If you do not want me to include you when I mention you in posts I will not. That is your choice.

Ha, ha. Cruz is your second choice so you post a cartoon mocking him as too far to the right! Hilarious!

Well, it's true isn't it? Cruz campaigned specifically targeting far right evangelicals and ignored building a broader base. It's proven correct in his Iowa win.

To be fair, I have concerns about Trump & Cruz's electability in the general for different reasons.

But it’s a-okay The Don claims nobody reads the Bible more than him. Standing by for your rationalization of that.

It would be nice if you included a fragment of the post you had responded to. Otherwise, I can't really tell what your point or beef is.

Post 123 of this same thread. 3 posts before this one, two posts before the one I’m responding to.

On mine, they were alphabetical on the electronic ballot.

Cruz was the first name under Presidential Candidates. Trumps name was one of two in a second column on the right with a label that seemed to be right against those two names “US representative”

I am also intrigued at how the Texas closed primary system will affect this outcome.

I think it will favor cruz.

Considering you're the one who pinged me that may be a difficult request.

You made some kind of comment about Trump reading a bible.

What does that have to do with anything? He hasn't said he would strap on the full armor of God, or awaken the body of Christ or say the he would show us the face of God like Cruz has. If you have a problem with a nonsense Trump statement, you'd better look Ted's way for even more nonsense.

Sigh.

You claimed your#2 choice was Cruz but you posted a cartoon mocking him for being too conservative. Then I called you on it and you said that ‘he is too conservative’ because he didn’t build his base (suck up to liberals), all based on your perception that evangelical is a direct correlation to conservatism.

Then I replied with a reference to the fact that Trump now claims “nobody reads the Bible more than him.” But that will play to Trump’s base, being all religious and whatnot? I’m sure you’ll say The Don is just making America great again or whatever, so let’s hear it.

because he didn't build his base (suck up to liberals)

First, you have to admit that Cruz applied a heavy strategy to target evangelicals which led to his success in Iowa. It was also likely that he had hoped for momentum to carry over as the leader to other states. That certainly hasn't happened. For whatever reason, whether it's him personally or his work in the Senate, he has been unable to draw a strong following. I know what others have said about why Cruz is struggling and perhaps you would share why you think Cruz is doing so poorly.

Finally, I'm honest enough to admit that, at times, Trump says things that are cringe worthy, but so has Cruz. I also look at other things about Trump to tell me about him as a person. I look at how well his children have turned out and realize that it wasn't by accident. I look at the charitable acts he has done that he doesn't boast about.

Even yesterday at his appearance at Regent, his tone was very different than his stump speeches and spoke about success and successful people. He says he knows many and talked about how many weren't very happy as they always wanted more and more. He said that in these paid 'success' speeches, he talks about the importance of family.

I know that you would come back and say "sure, here's the guy with two failed marriages talking about family". That may but valid be I don't know the circumstances and I'm not in a position to judge.

The reason why Cruz isn't my number one is I simply don't trust a lifetime politician/lawyer to fix anything, frankly. I'm very cynical about sending another 'conservative messiah' to the White House and wait to get stabbed in the back as happened so often. I'm just jaded on politicians, what can I tell you?

Cruz is a true conservative and the media hates them. They have been hammering home the evangelical angle of Cruz and there are millions of socially liberal conservatives that are frightened by that. I call them liberals.

I hope your instincts are right about Trump because it looks like he’ll be the next President. And he is unlikely to change how government is currently run. EPA, IRS, DEA, DOE, VA, EPA will continue to place their jackboots hard into the necks of millions of Americans.

Maybe. His language has been squishy in places. His overt religiousness turns people off and he does have some honesty issues.

That being said, Trump should get rid of the 'I'm a better Christian than you' routine. Pandering by Cruz or Trump is garbage.
