Let's state the point clearly: Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz failed utterly to put a dent in Donald Trump or his seemingly clear path to the Republican nomination. In their defense, it was a huge challenge. If Trump does as well on Tuesday as the current polls suggest, he will likely be unstoppable. Not necessarily because the numbers will make him inevitable but because the pageantry of winning will continue to elevate Trump and overwhelm Rubio and Cruz. To prevent that, one or the other needed to land a devastating blow - something on the level of what Chris Christie did to Rubio before New Hampshire. Frankly, it needed to be even worse. They didn't come close.

Disagree, last night Trump demonstrated that he only knows ‘build the wall’ and very little about other issues. It was not a good night for him.
Trump!!!!!!!
Cruz pretty much endorsed Rubio.
Now the Cruz people here are losin their minds! Lol!
They now have to actively talk up Rube or slink away in shame.
Thought he did OK seeing as Ted and Rubio was attacking him from both sides, but Rubio came off desperate and a little boy trying to make everyone look at him .
Rubio looked good at times, at other times he look like a kid trying to pick on his dad
A few of us were watching it and as one person said last night.
Trump looked like a mail guy with two Chihuahuas nipping at his heels from both sides.
I’m sure that’s how any adult would have seen it too.
Trump had it from all sides and stood his ground...must have been tough. I dont think many could taken it that long and not lost it. IMO. I might have taken a few swings.
Unfortunately we know that Marco doesn’t want a wall, and Cruz is not eligible to be POTUS, so the smack downs ring hollow to informed people.
All the online polls say Trump did better than usual.
The chihuahuas failed to draw blood.
True.
Rubio had to impress the future donors and he probably got some , but to me his petulant shouting and demanding others show a plan when he clearly has never given his own plan made him look like what you said.
He does very well IMO under the constant fire he receives.
I’m a wimp. I would have folded like a cheap suit months ago.
He does handle pressure very well.
Like a President should.
Totally agree!
Last night proved Trump is right again! Rubo & Cruz PROVED THEY are just thugs willing to carry water for their controlling âowners.â
What a waste of talent! If only Rubio & Cruz had not sold their souls and politically enslaved themselves to the highest bidders!
If Cruz doesn’t get the nod, he ought to spend some money on a speech coach. He needs to lower the pitch of his voice, slow down and enunciate like a pro announcer. In the debates, he sounds like a whiny little boy, and it doesn’t serve him well.
If even TalkingPointsMemo concedes...
