Kasich: Trump ‘Probably Going to Win’ All Super Tuesday
Breitbart ^ | 02/28/16

Posted on 02/28/2016 9:24:51 AM PST by Enlightened1

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Republican presidential candidate Governor John Kasich (R-OH) said of the states voting on Super Tuesday that his rival Donald Trump is “probably going to win probably all of them.”

Jake Tapper said, “Well, I mean, no offense, but you haven’t won a contest, and it doesn’t look like you’re going to win any on Tuesday.”

Kasich said, “No. I think Trump’s probably going to win probably all of them. But you keep holding your own, and we have our campaign plan. I mean, everybody has to do it the way they want to do it. Our way of doing it — our campaign plan was ultimately to, you know, hold our own in some of these places, and we will, I expect. and then we’re going to head north. But at the end of the day, what changes this race is my ability to win in Ohio. And if any of these people can’t win their own states, they probably ought to get out. We ought to consolidate the race. In Ohio head to head, I beat Donald Trump by 18 points. Why is that? Why is it that I’m running even with Donald Trump in Ohio without making any real effort in Ohio? Let me also ask you this. Why am I beating Hillary Clinton by more than any other candidate in the race? Is that because I’m not being combative enough? I take my positions, and I have strong positions, but I’m going to run my campaign the way I want to, not the way that some pundit wants me to do it so they can get more eyeballs. to be honest with you.”

I think that’s what he is holding out for.

I don’t see myself voting for Kasich, but he has worn on me pretty well. He made good points in the last debate and he doesn’t seem dishonest or pouty. In addition, his father was a mailman, and that has to count for something.

But, seriously, some of the candidates have not worn well at all. I will happily vote for Trump and I think Kasich would be a reasonable candidate for VP.

Heh, as much as I don’t like him on a lot of policy issues, Kasich’s personality reminds me of a standard, likeable, fatalistic northeast Catholic grandpa.

Given the choice of Trump, Hillary or Kasich, I’d take Kasich. But, honestly, I’ve liked the guy ever since he was in Congress. I think he’d make a good president.

A career politician succeeds at politics? Shocking!

He forced conservatives out because he wanted to surround himself with moderates like himself.

I agree. I didn’t much like Kasich at the beginning of this process and Instill don’t, but of those remaining on the stage, Inwould be just fine with a Trump/Kasich ticket. Cabana Boy is a non-starter for me as is the detestable Ted Cruz. I like Ben but he’s not VP material.

I've warned all along that Kasich is a dangerously effective campaigner when he gets focused on it. The Cruzers continually insulted me. So now there's a viable alternative to either Cruz or Rubio who brings in delegates and has broad-ranging government experience.

Do I like Kasich any more than I did yesterday? No, he could care less about conservative issues or the fiscal well-being of local governments in OH. Would I accept him as part of a ticket that doesn't tear the US apart? Yes

The tactics of Rubio and Cruz have been so over-the-top that THEY have to be defeated. Who knows who or what they represent?

Obviously angling for VP with it being all about Ohio.

I think Kasich would be the perfect VP choice for Trump. Has executive experience as governor...can help deliver Ohio and maybe Michigan...knows his way around the house and senate...is a fiscal conservative. Father was a mailman.

If he wins Ohio and Rubio loses FL and Cruz loses Tx, that would be Kasich’s path....I can see ?Kasich doing well in California, Illinois, Michigan etc and that is a lot of delegates

Michigan is before Illinois and Florida.

Illinois, Florida and Ohio are on the same day.
