Steve Forbes: Trump Will Lure Votes From Democrats

Publishing magnate Steve Forbes weighed in on the Republican presidential race Saturday and said that Trump would do well with unions, even if union leaders pull for a Democratic candidate.

“[Union leaders] may endorse a Democrat like Hillary Clinton, but the rank and file, a big chunk of them are going to go their own way," Forbes said on a radio interview with John Catsimatidis. He also said a big part of Trump's appeal is his attitude in speeches.

"Trump, even as he criticizes and throws out charges and all that kind of thing, he always ends up on an upbeat note about the USA," Forbes said.

That may be the case if the candidate IS NOT Trump. Case in point. My daughter-in-law, union worker, (democrat) can't stand Hillary and would probably go for a republican if it is not Trump, because she can't stand him even more.

No, union leaders support Democrats because they get pork in return. But ordinary union workers have more than once recently voted for conservative Republicans, because they want to cut back on taxing and spending which has been losing them their jobs.

Also, union workers don’t appreciate the usual Democrat support for forced union dues.
