Rubio’s Gang of 8 Bill Granted Amnesty to Illegals Guilty of “Sex Offenses”

It was worse than we thought. Marco Rubio’s Gang of 8 bill granted amnesty to illegals guilty of sex offenses. Via the Center for Immigration Studies:

A thorough analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies of S.744 finds that the enforcement and compliance provisions of the Gang of Eight bill are designed to reward and protect lawbreakers while undermining many effective and common-sense provisions in our immigration law. A number of the provisions mask their true intent under innocuous or downright misleading titles.

The enforcement-related measures in this bill have profound implications for public safety and will greatly hamper federal and local law enforcement programs designed to prevent criminals and terrorists from settling and operating here. Because the bill essentially excuses nearly all forms of immigration and identity fraud, the integrity of our immigration system is greatly compromised by this bill. Among the most serious flaws that have public safety, national security, and/or enforcement implications:

** The bill allows the legalization of aliens who have been convicted of up to three misdemeanors on separate occasions, excluding “minor” traffic offenses. This provision will allow the legalization of those with multiple offenses for drunk driving, vehicular homicide, domestic violence, certain sex offenses, theft, identity theft, and other misdemeanors.

One Senator had an amendment that would require deportation of people if they committed TWO DUIs before being a citizen.

The amendment was VOTED DOWN, probably 8 to 0, and the law stayed written as 3 DUIs.

That’s how bad the law was - and RUBIO was its TOP SALESMAN. It was a LOT MORE than a ‘mistake’ on his part, as he now demands we believe.

This is RUBIO’s bill, and Rush has a LOT OF EXPLAINING to do regarding his mini love affair with Rubio.

Not saying WHO is right, wrong or indifferent, with Rubio and parent BOTH Cuban citizens, Cruz with Cuban father and American Mother BUT born in Canada and was elected Senator as a Canadian citizen(NOT that there is anything wrong with that), it is quite Ironic - THAT - with the info we have, that BO - by having an American Mother and being born in the US is more ‘eligible’ (I had to bite my tongue to avoid using the word ‘qualified’)

And I, like so many here(with many now Cruz &/or Rubio supporters) were very ‘put out’ by BO’s claim to eligibility.....

I agree with the need for Rush to come clean. A current article from the NY Slimes talks about a collusion between Fox and Macro Robocito along with Hannity, Limbaugh, and other conservative media to soft pedal criticism of the amnesty. There are quotes of Rush praising Robocito, which if accurate (in context?), would harm the respect Rush’s listeners have for him. The enduring and resilient popularity of of the talk show is based on his truthfulness regardless of the issue. “Lucy you got some splaining to do.”

“I listen to Rush occassionally and I’ve heard him say rubio is Good EXCEPT for immigration.”

If I had a grandfather who served as a cook for the SS under Hitler and then apologized for even playing that small role in the extermination of millions of Jews, I might later say my grandfather was a good guy except for the time he worked for the SS.

On the other hand, if my grandfather reported directly to Hitler, and was directly responsible for masterminding the Holocaust, then I would have trouble saying the above.

If Rubio was the cook (as were most Republicans that voted for it), then yes, maybe he admits a mistake and moves on. But if he’s the MASTERMIND, we should NEVER give him the chance to achieve that level of political power again in his career.

The Gang-of-Eight bill was DEAD ON ARRIVAL without Rubio - heck, even Pelosi wouldn’t touch the issue when the Dems ran both houses of Congress with VETO-PROOF DEMOCRAT MAJORITIES - she simply would not move on it unless the Republican put their fingerprints on it too - that is what she said and THANK GOD Rubio wasn’t there yet (this was 2009-2010).

With Rubio it came WITHIN HOURS of becoming law, even with a STRONG REPUBLICAN MAJORITY in the House. There is NO WAY to ‘look past’ the issue and only focus on ‘the rest of the man’ - Rush doesn’t do that with others, why did he do that with Rubio? That was the part that many here, Snerdly, and most of Rush’s listeners could not understand. Now we know.

There are others here that say Rush actually lobbied for the Gang-of-Eight bill (and earlier forms of amnesty) - if he did, I also didn’t hear it. Rush certainly lobbied against those bills and REALLY HELP people like me understand the stakes involved - and this is why we could not understand Rush’s fawning over Rubio.

(by the way, if you don’t like the Nazi analogy, then come up with a better one...but I put both virtually at the same level - considering the damage that will be done to this country with one-party rule by today’s Democrats...and I would not rule out a Cambodia/China/Soviet-type ‘cleansing’ and ‘re-education effort’ if they got uncontested power...nothing in their behavior today shows it couldn’t happen)
