Chris Rock’s schizophrenic Oscar monologue: Slaps Jada Smith, calls Hollywood racist, bashes cops

Comedian Chris Rock gave what has to be both the most monotonous and racially-charged Academy Award monologue in its entire history — it was 10 minutes of nothing but one #OscarsSoWhite joke after another.

Then for the cherry on top, he shouted out “Black lives matter!” at the end.

Rock hit the audience right out of the starting gate.

“Man, I counted at least 15 black people on that montage,” he said. “Hey, well, I’m here at the Academy Awards, otherwise known as the white People’s Choice Awards. You realize if they nominated hosts, I wouldn’t even get this job. Y’all be watching Neil Patrick Harris right now.”

But a lot of his monologue wasn’t at all funny. It was peppered with political opinions fueling the racial divide in America – or more accurately bashing “racist” whites and cops.

“You know, this year, the Oscars, things are going to be a little different. Things are going to be a little different at the Oscars,” he said. “This year, in the in memoriam package, it’s just going to be black people that were shot on their way to the movies. Yes. Yes. I said it. All right?”

Rock did take a mild swipe at Jada Pinkett Smith, the actress who began a boycott of the event with this indulgent rant.

Here’s what he said:

But what happened this year? What happened? People went mad, you know? Spike got mad and Jada went mad and Will and everybody went mad, you know? Like — Jada got mad, Jada says she’s not coming, protesting, I’m like — doesn’t she have a TV show? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited. Oh, that’s — it’s not an invitation I would turn down. But I understand, I — I’m not hating. I understand you’re mad. Jada is mad. Her man was not nominated. I get it. I get it. You get mad. Said it’s not fair that Will was this good and doesn’t get nominated. You’re right. It is also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for “Wild Wild West,” okay? Okay?

Oscars’ MOST revealing moment: Watch how crowd treats conservative Stacey Dash, minority outreach director

The #OscarsSoWhite controversy began when, for the second year in a row, the nominating committee, chaired by an African-American woman, didn’t nominate a single black artist in any category. Soon thereafter, people announced they were boycotting the event.

Even President Obama felt the need to weigh in on the so-called controversy.

Eventually the committee caved and promised to become “less male and less white” in their nominations.

So maybe it’s not about talent after all — maybe it’s about diversity.

Underscoring that notion, the crowd cringed when the academy’s first minority outreach director was named and brought onstage: conservative black actress Stacey Dash.

I guess being black doesn’t count if you’re a conservative.

I posted a puff piece earlier this morning that I indicated came with a 'Barf Alert'. I find this one more descriptive of the antics of yet another race nincompoop.

The little poser fake-ghetto black had to walk a fine line between the money of being ‘funny’ and being down with the struggle and true to the roots he wishes he had.

Hmmm...lotsa money on this Oscar Gig for years, mo’ money, mo’ money in ‘funny’ movies whites like without pissing off everybody over perceived racism and getting the props from his bruthas and sistas.....

He gets what he gets. He stopped being funny for me long ago once I figured out what he really is.

Well, I guess that Affirmative Action is far more important than truth and achievement. Oh wait, I think I’ve understood that for several decades.

Hollywood should only produce all black films this year. No whites allowed. Then next year every award can go to a black. Any less than that just reinforces the fact that Hollywood is racist.

Chris Rock is a racist, foul-mouthed, loud-mouthed, bigoted little shite, who is put on these crappy shows only for his shock value.

I refuse to listen to him (or anybody else) bemoan the fact that I, as a white man, am a sorry, low-life person with no redeeming qualities, simply because some "actor" or "actress", who claims a victim-ship, simply by being black, did not receive a silly-ass little faux gold statue for portraying something or someone in a poorly produced piece of crap video endeavor.

To hell with Hollywood, to hell with Chris Rock and most of all, to hell with BLM.

I'm beyond fed up with this crap!

I am no fan, but humor is not suppose to be consistent. It is suppose to be funny. I never watch those obnoxious shows anymore, but I have heard clips in the news. Sounds like he was 1) trying to be funny, and 2) trying to please everyone.

He had the audience he wanted in that room. There was more white guilt in that assembled group of privileged, hypocritical, liberal ,left wing lowlifes than silicon breast implants.

Agreed. What makes him so “COOL” is how disrespectful he is in the name of “Comedy”. It's perfectly fine for an African-American to rip down and destroy the fabric of the nation while using racial slurs but it is “unfair” for a white guy to do the same. Hey! I'd call that “discrimination”.

Somewhere in all the hype is maybe, just maybe, the award nominations were based on merit, not quotas.

Re: The 88th Annual Academy Awards Ceremony: The Oscars

Gadzooks-- If a white person watching Chris Rock & the Oscars last night wasn't a racist... afterwards, he damn well had good reason to become one!

The only thing Chris did not cry racism about... was there not being more dead Blacks in Oscar's "In Memoriam" segment.

"Just my luck, Bendy, I finally do die... and they leave me out 'cause I'm just a another old too damn white man!"

If these lefties were to produce all black movies for a year they’d be broke.

The NFL is teetering on the verge of monotony.

This the guy who said “there are black people, and there are niggers.” And if “black people want to stop getting beat up by the ‘po-lice,’ they should stop acting like niggers.”

Where is that Chris Rock?

just more proof that Obama has set back race relations 50 years.

the agitator-in-chief is a divider, not a uniter.
