Your comment about Martinez (I’m not going to quote it) was absolutely false and disgusting. Your bona fides look pretty suspicious to me. I suggest you ask for it to be stricken from the record, it’s up to you to show you’re not hacked.

“The Establishment needs to go.”

I concur (although I don’t really see Gov. Martinez as “establishment” — she’s in a hard place w/r/t the federal government in a state with the feds owning most of the land and providing a lot of the good jobs (excepting oil, and that is hurting now).

I am not sure, however, that a populist is the way to go to get rid of the establishment. I’d much prefer conservatives.

And we are SO CLOSE.

Establishment politicians who have a vested interest in “protecting the line of ascension” are suspect.

ANYONE should be able to run for president AND get elected. The donor class wants that to be “just words with no meaning”.

Trumps is no longer the issue, being “one of us” is the issue for those money donors.

She’s pandering to her people (Hispanics). She’s a racist.

“she does cater to NM majority Hispanic”

She’s been fighting drivers licenses for Illegals since she took office. She’s also had some bad press issues of late with a party that got out of control so small wonder she’s avoiding baited questions that would compound that problem.

“she’s “certainly not” voting for Democratic hopefuls”

Translation, she’ll vote for Trump is he’s the guy.

“who were the first two?”

I am not sure what you mean.

Our previous governor was Bill Richardson, who basically transferred all of NASA tech to China at the behest of Clinton. Richardson also put in a corrupt scheme to get his family paid for environmental “work” related to the oil patch.

Before that, it was a pot smoking libertarian, who is a hilarious guy to go skiing with, but a crappy governor.

I’ve always thought she’d be on the short list for someone’s VP.

Seems not to be the case.

“Sounds like she is more La Raza than American!”

La Raza actually hates Gov. Martinez. She’s vetoed all attemps to give illegal legal status or paperwork — e.g., driver’s licenses.

La Raza support wouldn’t help in NM, either. The Hispanics in New Mexico are Spanish and lived in NM since before NM was bought by the USA.

Her Democrat opponent even ran ads calling her “La Tejana”) (the “Texan”) because she was born in El Paso -— not to stir up anti-Texas feelings (which do exist, in a friendly way) but because it implied she was of Mexican descent, and thus lesser than the long-timers.

It’s a very different dynamic here. New Mexico is majority non-immigrant Hispanic, followed by Indian, followed by whites.

"Like many, she is afraid of Trump."

While I admire Gov. Martinez, like so many other patriots she has probably never really studed the federal governments constitutionally limited powers regardless that she has sworn to protect and defend the Constitution. So if she or anybody else is scared of Trump, she needs to get up to speed with the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers. Most of them are listed in the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I.

In fact, if you’ve got about three spare minutes, Judge Andrew Napolitano will read the 18 clauses of Section 8 to you, under two pages worth of clauses.

Judge Napolitano & the Constitution

Since Trump probably swore to protect and defend the Constitution as a military cadet, I know that he is under my thumb since I know the Constitution. So if I ever have to call Trump a liar for ignoring the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, it is going to stick.

She might take a position in a Republican administration, but she won’t run for office again on anyone’s ticket. She’s said that many times and she also has family issues (caregiver for older developmentally disabled sister). And she’s no RINO as the phrase is used in other venues.

This past session she finally won a partial victory in her five year battle to get rid of driver’s licenses for illegals (thanks, ironically to Obama’s Dept. Homeland Security). DHS prohibited use of NM licenses to enter military facilities which required employees and contractors to get passports. DHS also threatened to deny passengers with a NM driver’s license from boarding commercial airline flights unless they had a passport.

The Rats, who for years fought against denying illegals a DL, were in a tight spot with DHS threatening to require all NM citizens to get a passport to travel by air out of state. To solve the problem legislation was passed to allow illegals with a DL to keep their license (but it can’t be used for air travel or access to military facilities) and new illegals can get a “driving permit” but must be fingerprinted first. The latter was hard for immigration advocates to swallow but they didn’t have a choice. It remains to be seen how legal NM residents will need to provide proof of citizenship (or valid immigration card) next time their license comes up for renewal.

My ancestors came from Mexico to SW Texas and to NM-about 250 years ago-same area Martinez’s ancestors are from-does that make me a racist? I’ve never been a racist of any sort, and I’ve never been a liberal, either. My “people” are Americans, same as Susana Martinez’s are-she is not a panderer, any more than our Texas senator and presidential candidate, Ted Cruz is...

La Raza despises people like Martinez because they are Americans first, and they don’t like mojados-most people of Latino/Hispanic ancestry do not like illegals, and we have a proper loathing for hate groups like La Raza...

My 1st husband’s family is in NM, and I’ve spent many wonderful times there-if I didn’t live in Texas, I would probably live there.

So now the people rise up once again and this time it’s to bring in a total outsider to shake up DC

And I sit back after all of what you said above and say, nothing will change. All will stay the same just changing the captain chair on a sinking ship. We will sit here in S Texas being over run by damn near every country in the world coming across our border. Carrying disease, drugs and all their other third world baggage.

There’s going to be some serious housecleaning, folks. It will be a bloodbath.

As there should be

Illegal immigration is a real problem in NM. I have personally intercepted hundreds of illegals walking across my ranch and gotten ZERO help from the federals. Our local Sheriff has taken to arresting them for felony trespass (they cut the fence), which usually results in deportation, but not so much anymore.

Same in S Texas. Since about 2013 you might as well give the illegals a ride to the bus station because that is where you will see them in the morning. We have been sold out by our government so many times I do not care who they put in any office, I will never turn my back completely on them. They cannot be trusted.

Elections will not fix what is broke with our Federal Government. We have proved that in the last 3+ cycles. The corruption is too deep rooted.
