I read somewhere that every 11th adult is a millionaire.
If you walk around the town....they have money and people are happy with their government. Jobs exist...no homeless people....no idiots walking around and whining. The airport is a marvel and ought to be a must-visit for any guy designing future airports. Crime is almost non-existent and people have a positive outlook on things.
I actually got to my hotel late on the first day...10PM. I expected that the room might have been given away or that it’d be a hassle. Here was the manager, two clerks, and a bellhop going into action, and minutes later I was in my room, which probably was one of the best stays of my life. One of the clerks escorted me to the room and showed me a dozen-odd technology gimmicks associated with the room and I felt right at peace. Out the backdoor of the hotel were forty-odd pubs and restaurants within two minutes of a walk.
If you want evidence of a successful society and business thriving....that’s the place to go spend a couple of days.
Oh, I need to say this. When you land at Dulles and spend 70 minutes in some stupid line waiting on immigration to do their dog-and-pony show....it’s frustrating. In Singapore? I spent two minutes in line, a minute with a guy checking the passport, and checked out easily. It was like night and day.
