To take this little scumbag down once and for all we will need complete cooperation of strong ally Japan, where 70,000 US troops are now stationed—to say nothing of South Korea. And yet, I can personally assure you Japan is extremely unnerved at present by the rather uncalled for and endless Japan Bashing and other simplistic geopolitical vitriol on the part of candidate and would-be nominee Donald Trump. It’s nice to wish away Kim Jong Un, but it’s another thing to devise a solid strategy and plan to do it with all our key allies on board. Trump is spreading way too much ill will, disharmony and trepidation out here for no damned good reason. Many wish he would stop playing fast and loose with serious things.

May i observe that it was Obama who has played fast and loose with serious things: and the Congress did nothing to stop him.

While it is true that "The White House is not a place for rookies" still it is fair to note that there is a difference between a Rookie who promised to "Fundamentally Transform The United States of America" and one who wants to "Make America Great Again".

The *types* of mistakes will be different...

You’re right about Trump’s wreckless wording of phrases about Japanese & Chinese.

TRUMP: “They’re taking our money.”

On NHK (Japan TV), that is interpreted to sound like they’re THIEVES.

What Trump meant to say is “They are outcompeting us.”

Totally undiplomatic on Trump’s part. he needs to apologize and make amends with Japan.

Get a memo into Tokyo: Trump complemented Japanese leaders and stated they were smarter than our betraying sellouts. There was no, “Uncalled for and endless Japan Bashing” by Trump, as you described.

There are many of our allies very concerned about Trump and rightfully so...... But I do wonder if S. Koreans really want N. Korea opened up ....the younger generation often speak of not wanting N. Koreans to flood over their border. Unlike the older generations they have little to do with the prior history of the oldsters. It’s as though too much time has passed when there would have been a better and welcomed outcome, where today S. Koreans are very much a part of the Western lifestyle.

I agree. Let me ask you, as someone who is literally in the line of fire is there anything to Trump’s “plan” (if you can call it that) to pressure China to do something about NK? What’s their present feeling on the matter? It seems the Russians have just about had enough.

Good! We’re broke. 25% of our workforce is idle. They helped to bring us down. They should be unnerved. We are certainly unnerved.

It’s not Japan Bashing. He is putting them on notice that they will now be playing the Varsity team.

Completely ignorant.

Like North Korea threatens us and not Japan. For the world to take this little scumbag down once and for all they will need the complete cooperation of the USA. Don't ever forget it. Any lives we lose in the matter will really be in defense of those in the region and not us. So you have it exactly backwards AND upside down, and that is exactly what Donald Trump realizes.

Not that we aren't going to be strong, but we aren't going to pretend that we need THEIR cooperation, when the truth is that they need OUR cooperation. Or that we need THEIR good graces to station our troops there, when the truth is that they need OUR good graces to station our troops there.

This kind of backward upside-downedness has been going on all my life. We really are stupid.
