Scotland’s leader says she doesn’t want to use a possible British vote to leave the European Union as leverage to achieve independence. But First Minister Nicola Sturgeon concedes that Scots’ secessionist spirits would be inflamed if English voters forced them out of the EU.

Sturgeon spoke Sunday on the second day of her Scottish National Party’s spring conference, which is focused on strengthening nationalist control of Scotland’s Parliament in a May 5 election. […]

Sunday’s published poll data suggested that Scottish voters appear much more enthusiastic than their English neighbors about staying inside the 28-nation bloc, with 50 percent planning to vote “yes” to Europe, 35 percent “no”. That contrasts with several U.K.-wide polls this month that put pro- and anti-EU camps in a virtual tie. …

Being pro-EU is not being pro-independence. Those leftist Scots are good and brainwashed.

Aren’t we all-——the Matrix is very, very powerful-—and Hitler stated that if you repeat the big lie over and over it will become the truth. All their children are complete slaves to the system-—totally brainwashed.......not a true Scottish (independent) thought in their little heads. They have grown very dumb and lazy. Sad to witness the Menticide inserted into the system/schools/TV/media/curricula/”churches”———the repetition of lies and warped, perverted ideas 24/7 for the children to absorb......and they do.

Virtue is embedded and habituated and without virtue formation in children there is no possibility of Freedom-—none. (Aristotle).

It’s a win/win proposition.
Britain leaves the burning ship, and the Scotts lose the money propping up the welfare state and go back to working.

The funny thing is, the later union is actually based on the Scottish monarchy taking over the English one.

The so called Scottish Nationalist Party are actually a Euro Federalist party. They favour Scotland becoming a “region” of the EU with only 6 MEP’s out of a total of 751. They are traitors to Scotland but most of their supporters will go along with it if the English are against it.

Instead of “federalist”, think “imperialist”. They want their sovereignty subsumed to a USSR-like government.

Even if they do force another referendum there is no guarantee it will go their way. They lost last time by a clear 10%

Something fishy about this!

With further reading an independent Scotland probably couldn’t survive without being part of some union.

Have a look at the EU’s “Europe of the regions” plan one day. The intent is to redraw national boundaries along imagined ethnic lines, thus dividing to ensure conquest.

What’s your take here? Personally, I think that larger countries are better for all involved, so I’d support Scotland staying with GB, with or without the EU.

By the way, I’ve blasted your country a few times this morning - nothing personal, just some easy shots to take.

Hi.

I am a staunch anti-SNP/anti-nationalist. Patriot, not nationalist. I proudly voted to keep Scotland in the UK. I want a strong Scotland in a strong UK. I am also anti EU (not anti Europe), I will be voting to get the UK out of the EU.

The SNP are pandering the myth that Scots are pro-Europe, in fact the recent evidence and polls show a rising number of Scots support leaving. The Nats will use ANY tactic to run Indy Ref No2. I think and I hope the Scots public has seen through them recently and will vote for other parties in the May Scottish elections. In the last year or so, they have been politically a shambles, and numerous accusations of bullying, corruption at local levels. A lot of it imo was built on a cult of celebrity, Nicola Sturgeon being flavour of the month. People imo are seeing through her now. Ironically, three main parties up here are run by women. Tories, Labour, SNP.

This week, figures were produced which show a £15B deficit in Scotland, in other words, had we voted YES in 2014 and left the UK, we would be bankrupt with a £14.9B debt. Even taking in oil and whisky revenues.

Cameron needs to let the English voters have a say as well as the Scots....:^)

It probably would change the outcome, and save English taxpayers money.

Scotland and England had the same monarch from 1603 onwards, but a union (which happened in 1707) was not inevitable. What caused the union was also financial positions, a wish for peace, monarchy played a part, but wasn’t the raison d’etre for the 1707 union.

The SNP is a joke. Those losers were campaigning like crazy for Scottish independence based on economic prosperity due entirely to the record high oil price.

It's lucky for the Scots that they voted against independence because the oil price has collapsed ~75% since the referendum. They would have been screwed YUGELY as Donnie would say!
