Let me begin by saying I am convinced candidate Donald Trump will get the 1,237 delegates he needs, so this outline could be just an intellectual exercise. However, last night on Sean Hannity RNC Chairman Reince Priebus discussed the delegate math and state of the GOP race headed toward the presidential nomination.

Those are his exact words. He’s not saying: “if they walk away“, he’s saying: “when they walk away”. Inherent in that statement is the expectation of someone walking away.
You are right, most of the delegates start out being selected at the local precinct level, then climb their way up through district and state selections.
Hannity gave Rinse fair warning but Rinse isn't buying it.

I think he means that when the whole thing is over and everyone goes home.
If Trump wins in November, Priebus and his ilk are in the unemployment line.
If Trump is anywhere close to the 1237 number and the GOPe decide to broker the convention, the GOPe will become history to the real American voter public...

Preibus should have been fired the day after the 2012 election.
Is there any way for us to know who the delegates are? A little transparency and some names might help.
No! No! No! In law there is the concept of "substantial justice" not elevating "process" over a just result. Sure GOPe needs to start playing it straight, but that is not the point here. We don't want more process, whether perceived fair or not. Process is what DC delivers in spades process process process. Want to appeal - we have another process and another process to appeal that and if you still don't like the outcome, just give $50 M to your favorite parties and we can get you a presidential pardon or an executive order.
The process is rigged in favor of the process.
There is another process. It is called the constitution and the voters and a representative republic where the representatives represent the republic of the People and not some special interests who have bought their way in among those who have sold themselves out.
In short Reince you've got it wrong. We have voted. We will have selected our candidate and you better give him the nomination.
GOPe is dead in any form you know it. We are just deciding how big a smoking crater to make around it. What you are gunning for, you could have Trump as the Third Party president and a democratic congress, or you can have Hillary and a democratic congress. You guys are toast.
Unfortunately for now, there is nowhere else to go.
