Cruz sold out and drank the cool-aid served up to him by the GOPe, who certainly didn't want Cruz to win, they were just using him to try to stop Trump.

“It seems that Cruz is just doing what even he needs to do for short term gain (ie embracing Mormanism in Utah). He doesn’t appear to be looking to win the nomination he’s just trying his best to deny trump from getting 1237.”
