Exclusive: Marco Rubio rejected 'unity ticket' with Ted Cruz
Politico ^ | 3/21/2016 | ALEX ISENSTADT

Ted Cruz’s campaign has been exploring the possibility of forming a unity ticket with ex-rival Marco Rubio — going so far as to conduct polling looking into how the two would perform in upcoming primary states.

The motivation, hashed out in conversations among Cruz’s top aides and donors: to find a way to halt Donald Trump’s march to the Republican nomination.

It’s unclear whether Cruz’s campaign brass views a partnership with Rubio as realistic or quixotic. In Rubio’s orbit, according to three sources, it’s seen as an outright nonstarter — with Rubio telling his team that he isn’t interested.

Yet in recent weeks, within Cruz’s camp, talk of a joint ticket has run rampant. Utah Republican Mike Lee, one of two senators to endorse Cruz, has emerged as an outspoken supporter of a unity ticket — and as a potential broker. The freshman senator, according to several sources briefed on the talks, has reached out repeatedly to Rubio to gauge his interest, but has been rebuffed.

WHAT?

Ted "Outsider McAnti-establishment" Cruz reaching out for a unity ticket with the Great GOPe Hope Wunderkind Rubio? With Mike Lee as the peace broker?

I wonder how many Cruz supporters would go for this?

It has to be getting hard for even the most devout Cruzers to continue to make excuses for his love affair with the GOPe. So far, it appears he will stop at nothing to become president. I find this much more terrifying than nukes in Donald Trump’s hands.

Oh my. Ted the outsider wanted to team up with the insider.

Who would have thought?

The news keeps getting worse for Cruz.

Two Cubans, both in their mid-40s, and both freshman U.S. Senators representing former Confederate states...

Sounds like a real well-balanced ticket.

I have to question Mike Lee’s judgement in this matter.

Why does no one (but Beck) want to play with Cruz ? Even Graham and Romney are obviously using him, with his public consent, to try to get Kasich, Bush, Rubio, or Ryan instead at a brokered convention. If they had to, they may offer him the VP slot for his delegates.

Now we see Cruz allying himself with the Amnesty crowd Graham, McCain, Rubio, Romney,GOpe etc.

Yet Cruz's fake words told Americans that he is so against Amnesty.

But his actions show Cruz is with the Gope.

Laws are the only lasting actions politicians can do and Obama has gotten everything TPA, Corker bill, Obamacare, etc. Americans And America nothing from Cruz and politicians

Cruz and the GOPe protested too much but gave Obama practically everything Obama wanted.

They will push America into the abyss as China will use TPP to destroy all manufacturing and industry in the USA. Only Trump can and will stop TPP and China and revitalize manufacturing industries technology and jobs in the USA.

LOL. Cruz can’t seal the deal himself and is flailing around looking for help. This is so over. Trump won. Only deluded Cruzies haven’t figured it out yet.

Interesting post from TCH. I debated posting it, as the source is anonymous, but it strikes me as credible. Make up your own mind.

There are some named sources in the article. And also, a lot of “no comment”s, which say something in and of themselves.
