Cruz push for doubling of immigrants raised again

Plans pushed by GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz under the immigration reform debate in 2013 that would have jumped the number of immigrants, including those from Muslim nations, were raised by the Trump campaign Tuesday.

Under the Cruz plan, yearly legal immigration would have gone from 740,000 to 1,675,000. He said his idea was to actually help kill the bill not boost the numbers.

"I was introducing a whole series of amendments, in part to demonstrate the hypocrisy of the Democrats. So, for example, the Democrats claimed they were supporting high-tech workers, so I introduced an amendment on that, every Democrat voted against it, which demonstrated that this was all a political endeavor for them, that what they were saying wasn't true," he told radio's Laura Ingraham.

Donald Trump's advisor Stephen Miller raised the issue on Fox Business, claiming the amendments would have "substantially increased" Muslim migration.

“Get ready for the Cruzers .... “

Not anymore - THEY ARE OPERATIVES. I just had to deal with one trolling on another thread.

The Cruzers know that their ONLY HOPE is with Trump winning the nomination outright - as they know a Trump defeat means a brokered convention, with Romney, Jeb, Linda, or Ryan becoming the nominee.

Cruzers are not stupid.

Which is why he jumped all Posse Comitatus today.
You want this guy with low emotional intelligence sitting in the White House wetting his pants when we get attacked?

Cruz must do what his puppetmasters tell him to: massive immigration/cheap labor/TPP-—just to name a few recent examples. Without the donations with quid pro quos like this-—without the ability to sell his influence-—Ted would have no money to be in this race.

Is that similar to “I destroyed the village in order to save it?” How’d that work out?

I pointed out how he has only won 3 primary election states , one being his own with less than 50% of the vote.

He has come third in 3 swing important states, and in 2 of them he never won a single county in FL, VA.

He has less delegates and without the Mormons led by Romney and the support of the establishment then he would be toast.

He has lost nearly all demographics and in some southern states never won a county.

If TX had not moved their election forward than he would be less than Rubio in delegates.

It is over and why some of the cruz voters come over on here repeating talking points put out by cruz on his facebook page nearly word for word is just pathetic to see.

You, I and others see it as over, but many Cruz supporters sincerely do not. Some believe that Cruz can get the delegates via elections...some believe that failing that that Cruz will be selected at the convention. I do not begrudge them for supporting the candidate they sincerely believe in. Indeed, it is an admirable quality.

It is...but I just have to keep remembering that are likely operatives, as they REFUSE to even answer questions about him and his strategy and also REFUSE to admit he’s human.

The REAL Cruz supporters here pretty much threw in the towel when Cruz was blaming Trump for the shutdown of Trump’s Chicago rally. They’re a good bunch, heck I was even one of them.

Of course not! I have been arguing this for a long time and I am glad to see you coming around. You will need to change your tagline, though so folks won't be confused.

“Do you really believe the last sentence?”

I certainly hope so...but maybe they are like the Ron Paul supporters last time, unable to accept defeat of their candidate and move on.

Ridiculous. Without Cruz, the Immigration debacle would have passed.

It DID pass the Senate, 68-32. Only Dave Brat's defeat of Eric Cantor killed it in the U.S. House.
