How the Brussels attacks could destabilize Europe
Reuters ^ | 22 March 2016 | Peter Apps

....Countries react very differently to attacks like this. The Madrid attacks in 2004 toppled the government, ending Spanish involvement in the Iraq war. The July 7, 2005 attacks in London, meanwhile, had a negligible impact on the mainstream political system — although a very real effect, albeit limited, on community cohesion.

The attacks in Belgium, however, take place against a much wider backdrop — not just the Paris attacks but the wider European migrant crisis. Even if all of the plotters in this case turn out to be homegrown, the attacks will still be seen in the wider European context of a continent already struggling to adapt to hundreds of thousands of new arrivals.

The real risk now is that hardliners on both sides end up playing off each other to destabilize the situation further. Already, hardline anti-migrant parties like Alternative for Deutschland — fresh from dramatic gains in local German elections earlier this month — say the Brussels attacks demonstrate a clear and urgent need to halt new arrivals. Muslim populations in Europe, both established and new, will inevitably find themselves under more suspicion and scrutiny, not to mention facing potential retaliatory violence.

I tolds yous so.............The enemy is not Islam with bombs full of nails in a crowded room. The real enemy is those who impede their access to crowded rooms and public funds given to immigrants to buy nails and bomb making materials.

I cannot explain this self suicide of nations? But it's all the rage lately among heads of state around the globe.

The Spanish thought they were attacked because they were involved with US, the Great Satan.

So they dumped us.

Brussels isn’t involved with us, and they still got attacked. Apparently for attempting to enforce their laws.

Will they dump them?

That’s right.

Today a European journalist said there are at least 6,000 ISIS/Muslim terrorists in Europe and the Intelligence communities are overwhelmed and keep up.

3 terrorists killed over 130 today. Imagine what would happen if 6,000 were active at the same time.

yeah.

if you read the whole article, Peter Amps is a f...t who makes believe he is going to explain how extremism on both sides is going to occur.

But only goes on to explain the horrible anti immigration extremists.

he’s not sure if it’s ISIS or just jihadis or even just a gang of bad guys, like every other country.

Curse his parents for having him.

too many European “men” acting like f...ts as it is.

like the german men who marched in mini skirts.

Europe’s become laughable. Western, at least.

WTF??? I beat down one of Obama’s sons in a neighborhood deli for touching my fiancé’s backside!

good old days without cameras everywhere, not that it would have mattered to me.

Nobody saw anything. Italian neighborhood is a Bad place for Obama’s sons to be pulling such antics.

Any of my family ever injured badly by these muslim ####s, I’m not waiting on the govt like I did after 9/11.

Ended up taking 12 years to build an ugly building and had to fight off a mosque being built close by.

Trump was right then too. He displayed plans to rebuild the Twins. It WAS the only option that made sense.

They were tall and majestic and beautiful and I always stood on awe of them.

And they’re gone.

I don't think the EU will become destabilized because of this attack. I believe this attack happened because the EU has already been destabilized.

The EU has been peddling the biggest population migration since the Slavs settled in Europe, and they don’t expect issues.

As if a shift in a 1000 year paradigm wouldn’t upset people. Truly the Eurocrats have the hubris of Lucifer.

" Peter Amps is a f...t who makes believe he is going to explain how extremism on both sides is going to occur."

The colonies in America in 1776 faced a real problem. 26% of the colonists were extremists which favored destabilization of the colonies and their relationships with England which could be harsh and severe.

Peter seems to have stepped on his peter, showing his desire as a social agent of change instead of reporting the news.

It wasn't until Washington and his armies began to gain victories years into the war that the other 74% of those with transient principles thought that destabilization may be a good thing and bring fresh opportunities to a people willing to give it a try. We unfortunately seem to use that gene pool of the 74% for our elected representatives these days in the modern era of enlightenment. Maybe turning over a few slimy rocks to find the 26% isn't such a bad idea?

” Can / will we answer the bell?”

Not as things stand. Europe has taken our aid and thumbed their noses at us. No more of that! And Europe wll have to fight and pay, and not sit back and let us do all the lifting. And lastly, they will have to agree to purge their countries of all the ME Muslim trash, if we leave any of them still breathing when the war is over.

I’m not sure if you can call Brussels a pinprick? It’s the functional equivalent of Washington DC.
