My old man was Airborne. He was in the worst of it during the Bulge, and later the air assault INTO Germany. He spent a further two years there tracking down die-hards (yes, those were Nazis).
The Werhmacht Landsers and Fallschirmjaeger (Paratroopers) that he face in the Bulge were tough, resourceful, well-disciplined troopers, who believed they were fighting for THEIR country, regardless of the mad little idiot CinC with the stupid mustache.
Dad HATED the SS. He said “we never took them prisoner... never” unless ordered to. But he always grudgingly admitted “they were tough sonsabitches” (his words).
The point is, those Germans - probably in much the same fashion as our people - were a different breed back then. All came through The Depression on both sides of the Atlantic. All were hardened and toughned. Plus, the Germans had street battles with the communists and other anarchy-minded groups as well, after WWI.
But NEITHER of our countries would countenance - much less sit idly by - while a virtual hostile invasion force was walking about raping our women and crapping on our culture, and a feckless complict government telling us to stand down - or else.

Well it’s hard to love a group that displays skull insignias on their uniforms. But as to your point, they’ve definitely swung too far in the other direction. From nationalism (nevermind the socialism) to anti-nationalism. Not to suggest either that the Nazis had their own people’s best interests in mind, I think it might even be worse for the German government to now encourage a genocide of their own people, their culture, and western civilization as a whole.

One can admire the tenacity of one’s enemy and respect his abilities while hating what they stand for.
But they were a trained, paramilitary political army at the end of the day. The SS were originally Adolf’s body guard. Himmler expanded them into the Waffen SS (armed, or “weaponized”); ultimately 36 divisions, from all across the Reich. There were Belgian, French, Nordic, and Muslim (Bosnian/Croatian/Albanian - the “Handschars”) volunteer SS units as well. Which is where the muslim/Nazi connection comes from. That’s well-documented.
Although my knowledge of this is clearly cursory compared to your own, it resonates well with what you’re describing. The Nazi/Muslim Brotherhood connection is still reflected by many in the Muslim world who consider Hitler a role model rather than a monster. But to other monsters, I suppose a monster is a role model. The Nazis in fact hated western civilization just like Muslims and modern liberals. All three for different reasons, but they are as they say strange bedfellows.
The Nazis used them as attack dogs against the Jews in the Balkans and elsewhere, and the Muslims used the Nazis for training, weapons, cash flow, etc.
It was parasitic and symbiotic at the same time.

In the US we have the “knockout” game instead.
America has its own protected groups which receive similar handling.
Europeans have not yet come to understand the Muslims are not like them, and have no intention of adopting western culture. Their stated goal is to drag western culture back into the 6th century.
Eventually the liberals will be mugged, stoned, mutilated and beheaded by the Muslims. It has already started in Europe.
