America to Establishment: Who the hell are you people?
McClatchy ^ | March 24, 2016 | DAVID LIGHTMAN

The people who spend two bucks for chili at the Courtesy Diner at Laclede Station Road can’t fathom why anyone would pay Hillary Clinton $225,000 to make a speech.

Nor can they understand why the U.S. Senate is taking a 17-day break for Easter after spending much of their time last week fuming over the Supreme Court vacancy. Somehow, people all over America are saying loudly and clearly this election year, Washington and its enablers – the media, the political pros and Wall Street – don’t understand us.

That’s why, all over this slice of middle America, exasperated people got up before dawn on a cold, 37-degree morning recently to spend four hours in a line so long that from its end people couldn’t even see the Peabody Opera House, where they would hear Donald Trump. And it wasn’t just Trump. In the next two days, other folks nearby lined up to hear the outsider talk from Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Bernie Sanders, Ind.-Vt.

They share the same grievance. In 2016 America, the deepest divide is not between Democrats and Republicans. It’s not even between conservatives and liberals. It’s between Us and Them – the people versus The Establishment.

Whoever wins the White House will find the same establishment chiseled into the Washington fabric as firmly as the monuments that dot its landscape.

Two-thirds of the Senate doesn’t face re-election this year. History says at least 85 percent, and probably many more, House of Representatives members will return. The lobbyists won’t suddenly close their practices. “This isn’t about one person,” said Steven Reinisch, a Missouri investment adviser. “This is about the whole, big picture.”

the media, the political pros and Wall Street

Wall Street? What the hell does Wall Street have to do with Senatorial laziness? This election isn’t about Wall Street, doofus. Not content to drive business offshore, we’re supposed to castigate what remains?

Not me.

Establishment to America: We know who the U.N. is, we know who the Islamic fundamentalists are, we know who Europe is, we know who the socialist democrats and career politicans are, but who the hell are you people?

Wall Street is a legalized international gambling cartel.

“people can’t fathom why anyone would pay Hillary Clinton $225,000 to make a speech.”

Well it’s high time the people awoke and figured out that the millions of dollars in speaking fees are legalized briberies for political gain.

Well it’s high time the people awoke and figured out that the millions of dollars in speaking fees are legalized briberies for political gain.

Yet, when a mere government employee makes a speech, he or she cannot legally accept any kind of speaking fee. At most, he or she can take compensation for the time and travel involved in making the speech.

Politicians engage in all kinds of unethical and immoral behavior. Then they make laws ensuring that the unelected employees of government have to work within a framework of ethics and morality laws far stricter than anything found in the public sector. It's as if the people who go to work for the government are the whipping boys for politicians.

I saw this yesterday. It’s an outstanding analysis of the current climate. One of the best political articles I’ve read recently.

To hell with the health of our nation, it’s all about $$$, power, priveldge and position for those up in Washington. The nation is being driven into financial ruin. All those in D.C. who are responsible for this monumental fiscal mismanagement should be thrown in prison.

Hordes of illegals, H1B visa abuse by corporations replacing American workers, interest rates at or near zero, those reaching retirement or already retired hung out to dry with few investment options other than the stock market roulette wheel. The middle class being crushed under regulation, taxes, laws.

The largest transfer of wealth in global history from America to China and folks are lullabied by the free traders. It’s good, it brings cheaper products and strengthens America...I say poppy cock! We are being deceived! Average American standard of living has declined over the last few decades. More Americans are out of work and or working jobs that pay much lower wages than anytime since the mid 70’s. Huge Sucking Sound perhaps?

Capitalism is the greatest economic model the world has ever known. Croney capitalism is a perverted model that has sapped the life from our country, certainly from the average Joe-six pack. Small buisness and the middle class drive this economy. They both are being decimated by feckless Washington beuracratic pipedreams....Obozocare to name just one of the thousands that suck the juice of life from our economy.

The people up in D.C. have forgotten they are servants of the people. On the contrary, they look down on the citizens as the ignorant lower class that must be led by the nose ring for their own good might they make a mess of their lives.

Regulating every aspect of our lives as if we commoners have little forsight or vision to make wise choices, healthy choices for our own lives...we must be led.

This is not America! It has morphed into some sort of utopian state where the government is god. From light bulbs to washing machines, from automobiles to sugar, education to travel, from free thought to independence, every damn aspect of our lives being governed....or more accurately, controlled. Freedom? Liberty? Self determination?

All the ideas and principals that made this nation free are disappearing and or gone. The thought police guide our every word and punish those who step off the path.

The media in this country is nothing more and nothing less than an enourmous propaganda machine for the state.

The time has come to ratchet up the civil, civil war.
