The Autism Racket
American Thinker ^ | March 26, 2016 | Sierra Rayne

During July 2008, nationally syndicated talk show host Michael Savage ignited a firestorm with his comments about autism, calling it "a fraud, a racket."

In follow-up statements, Savage explained his views as being "meant to boldly awaken parents and children to the medical community's attempt to label too many children or adults as 'autistic.'"

While Savage's language was blunt, his concerns over the gross over-diagnosis of autism are valid.

Of course, the U.K. banned Savage from entry, in no small part because of his controversial views on autism, proving -- yet again -- that British governments, both Labour and Conservative alike, are incapable of tolerating serious critical and controversial thoughts.

The autism lobby is very vocal, and their intimidation of politicians -- especially in the center of the political spectrum, which is always most susceptible by manipulation from pseudoscience -- has been intense. But when a lobby is so hysterical, that is reason to question its motives and validity.

In Canada, the province of Saskatchewan is having an election, and financial assistance for parents of autistic children has become one of the key policy platforms for the governing party that is seeking a renewed mandate:

I am referring to people who went to quacks. They made up lies that were related to fake stories of sexual abuse. They did not happen in the case of people I know. They sounded like the stories from the McMartin Preschool Case. I am just speaking from personal experience with 2 cases of weird people. They got worse after treatment. Their docs got richer though.

A woman I knew from France was here, and she was utterly amazed at how many people claimed to have autistic kids. I think its alar apples again.
Women love drama and love to be victims. Autism lets them say their kid is so smart they need special care.

Its just chick drama. 99% is fake and they only need a crack on the ass to make them act right.

Well you certainly cannot generalize to the whole world from that.

The fakers probably mimicked genuine cases. But just because I can malinger doesn’t mean nobody gets stomach aches.

Those are some pretty broad claims.

“If there is more funding available for autism services, clinicians may be predisposed toward the diagnosis if it brings the child in contact with more services.”

That rule applies just as well to the global warming fraud.

“Parents and teachers knew you could not expect a five year old to sit still for several hours”

Yes, more accurately: “Parents and teachers knew you could not expect a five year old BOY to sit still for several hours”

Rise in autism diagnoses along with a rise in feminism that hammers into the ground all boy-type behavior. . .perhaps a link?

Nail on the head but I would insert "Many" at the front of that sentence. Certainly there are plenty of women out there who would never victimize their children in order to gain attention to themselves.

I personally know mothers (usually single mothers) who claim "autism" for their overly sheltered and thus socially-awkward sons. You'd think their sons were "Rain Man" by how they talk about them. As in "He may sit in his room all day and play Wizards of Warcraft but he's a genius I tell you! Why he knows every keyboard command by heart and has photographic memory!"

Well I guess the silver lining is that they at least aren't forcing their boys to dress as girls, as other mothers do.

Speaking of syndromes, here's one for you: "Munchausen syndrome by proxy"

That's what some of these mothers have a legitimate bad case of.

It’s easy, I suspect, for narrow self-interest to coax borderline cases into being worse than they really are . . .

Yeah, do you mean the self-interest of the child's guardians, or the child's self-interest?

My sincere question is, how does one discern between aggravated habitual selfishness (correctible??) and true autism (not correctible?)(not aware of one's impact on others?).

Anybody got an answer??

True autism is correctable. I can teach an earthworm that one direction is an electric shock, the other is sugar.
A crack on the ass can indeed correct them when they throw tantrums.

I notice how they don’t pull that crap with people they are scared of. Ive seen far too many tantrums and the parents just let it go or try some California technique.
When I was young, you never saw those wild out of control events. It was because of the impending crack on the ass.

Not strong enough to keep Big Pharma from getting the courts to exonerate them for the root cause - vaccines.

So, vaccines are able to travel backwards in time to alter the DNA within oocytes and spermatozoa in order to introduce the genes that cause autism?

That's absolutely amazing! Do vaccines have other time-altering properties? We need to look into this--who knows what use we might get out of time-traveling drugs?

Seriously, the biological mechanism by which vaccines induce immunity against a disease are EXACTLY the same as the biological mechanisms the body uses to get immunity when it is infected by the pathogen. The difference is that a vaccine does not cause illness and tissue damage associated with an actual pathogen. So, if a disease does not cause brain damage, neither will the vaccine against that disease. And even if a disease (like measles, meningitis, encephalitis, etc.) *does* cause brain damage, the vaccine is injected into the arm, not the brain, so it cannot cause brain damage.

ADHD and autism are vastly over blown. It is easier to drug boys than let them be boys.

“Those are some pretty broad claims.”

That’s the facts as I see em sparky. I don’t make the world, I just live here. 99% of what is called autism is BS. That’s my fatwa.

And don’t think for a minute they don’t love all the little benefits for being autistic. For example, howzabout unlimited time on the SAT test? There are a lot of little hidden things like that.

Scam.

I wold see people with Down’s Syndrome on a regular basis. Couple times a month maybe? Now, I rarely do. They murder most of them in the womb.

Depending on where I work, I see people with Down syndrome on a regular basis. Many of the cleaning staff at my previous place of employment had Down syndrome. Many of the cleaning staff at my current place of employment are autistic. I've never spent much time around autistic people before. Whatever, I am glad to see the disabled get jobs.

“Extended time to take the SAT/ACT, the GRE/GMAT/LSAT’s as well.”

Meanwhile, non scamming honest kids have to do their best within the time limit. They must compete with the ones who game the system with fake afflictions. But can they buy a gun later, yes. Can they drive a car, yes.

But don’t dare tell them they need to follow the rules in life.

You’re right about the “many”.

And you said “I personally know mothers (usually single mothers) who claim “autism” for their overly sheltered and thus socially-awkward sons. You’d think their sons were “Rain Man” by how they talk about them. As in “He may sit in his room all day and play Wizards of Warcraft but he’s a genius I tell you! Why he knows every keyboard command by heart and has photographic memory!””

THAT, is so true. I have heard that so many times its silly.
