In the last election, when ObamaCARE was HATED,
the GOP put up perpetual loser Romney to make
the entire issue of ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE moot,
and to lose as they really, really wanted.

Now, in this critical present election,
with Huma having directed treason from Clinton’s bed,
the GOP has a Cruz-related scandal to make even THAT moot.

Either the GOP candidates wake up and open their
mouths, like Mr. Trump always does, and return the issue
to what it really should be: Clinton, Huma, Obama,
the Moslem Brotherhood, and treason .... or the GOP
will dwell on these useless scandals for critical months
and waste another of the People’s opportunities
(as the GOP always does for its own EXEMPT self).

Morning AB, All…..

As always, and more so this Easter morn, thank you for doing this thread so reliably. We are grateful.

Big thanks to Bray for weekly wisdom and yon commenters who serve up the meat and potatoes of this thread.

Why yes I do have an interesting anecdote from last week and y’all should listen up because I could have learned my lesson the hard way.

It began in 2007 when, at age 57, my heart started hurting. Literally, I would be mowing the lawn and feel a tightening in my chest that I didn’t understand. Of course I went to a heart doctor, we’ll call him Dr. G for now….just a guy then the only Cardio vascular guy near me so I made an appointment.

I needed a quadruple bypass is the upshot of the tests and this and that. In fact, it was during a stress test at Dr. G;’s office that caused me to collapse with….well with the stress. I was rushed to the hospital right from Dr. G’s office and the following Monday had that big bypass.

My relationship with Dr. G over the years has been….well a bit strange. First, I never really knew him before needing this major operation and for that sort of thing you are usually dealing with the heart surgeon. So we didn’t have any kind of rapport or loyalty.

After the operation, very successful and for the past almost ten years I have been pretty healthy, knocking on wood. But my blood is sludge, and I am going to need two more procedures, possibly a HUGE third one as I discovered last week which is part of this narrative.

I went to Dr. G. once a year for an echocardiogram and for a long time he prescribed my meds before I finally got a local doc, Dr. Robinson.

It was a confusing mess is what I’m saying here, my moving to a new state, suddenly needing all kinds of medical stuff and please don’t forget my beloved husband who, in the same year as my bypass, had a freaking brain infection!

I don’t especially like Dr. G for one major reason and Bernie Sanders’ supporters would call me prejudiced and mean.

BUT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE MAN!!!!!

He is from Pakistan, and I suspect he’s Muslim but give me space, THAT’S not my problem. Dr. G has an accent and it’s a thick one. For the most part I managed to understand him as after the bypass it was more a matter of routine care so I carried on. Also had Dr. Robinson on my side the past five years so I kept going to Dr. G as it wasn’t a problem.

Until my legs finally sent me the message that I am having serious caudal bloodflow problems to my leg. Like the arteries to my heart before, the arteries flowing to my legs has some kind of plaque shit in it and I need a roto-rooter. Also need to re-check those arteries to my brain, please bear in mind my sister had a severe stroke at age 64, father died at age 65, mother at age 73. We are not long-lived people is what I’m saying here and now, me, at age 65, am facing some medical issues.

So I signed up to a Medicare Advantage plan last year, Cigna. Y’all might recall that when they put in Obamacare they desperately wanted to get rid of Medicare Advantage plans, the idea that private companies could take over for Medicare, see how it works.

I LOVE CIGNA BY THE WAY….ask me for more information.

I knew it was time to leave Dr. G behind as a)why bother changing all the insurance stuff…perfect time for me to move on and b) did I tell you? I CAN’T UNDERSTAND THE MAN!

So I got Dr. Robinson to recommend a new doctor and guess what? In these past ten years since they fixed my heart they’ve built all kind of new medical centers and lots of doctors moving here to southern Delaware where the people are….well….old.

I set up the appt with Dr. Myers and this past Wednesday I met him.

He popped into the room, this after I finally found the place, who knew all that stuff was there on Kings Hiway in Lewes…..wasn’t there when I moved here! He wore no coat, had no stethoscope around his neck, he was about the age of my grandson.

I knew right away….RIGHT AWAY…that he was the cardio guy for me.

So he looked a little like Doogie Howser…what’s not to love? He bounced around the office in his khaki pants and he spoke like an American and I thanked God, thank you God…there really are American doctors and they’re coming to Delaware.

“We need to check that leaky heart valve of yours,” Dr. Myers said, still bouncing around, listening to my heart, referring to my files turned over from Dr. G’s office.

I missed that leaky heart valve thing as Dr. Myers asked me what was my problem with Dr. G. “I noticed he was your doctor for almost ten years.”

That question flummoxed me and I murmured something about language barrier. Doogie Howser referred back to his notes.

“Let’s get a look at those legs,” he said and I told him I knew I’m going to need something done….a stent, possibly an operation.

“And let’s get an echocardiogram for that leaky heart valve,” he said again.

I asked what they hell is this about a leaky heart valve. Dr. Myers then folded his hands and did an illustration of how the heart pumps, open, close….. He then lifted one of his fingers to show me how my heart valve stretches and leaks blood in the surround of my heart.

Well go to hell. I almost fainted. I do recall Dr. G going over something, something on my echocardiogram but damn if I understood him.

So that’s my story people. It’s important that you understand your damn doctor no matter how politically incorrect it might be to insist upon it.

After my appt. with Dr. Myers I went on to their web site and expanded on my issues with Dr. G, how he was a nice guy but with my senior years looming, my new health insurance….it was time.

I told Dr. Myers I am sure I made the right choice.

And darn if old Doogie Howser didn’t send me an email back, assuring me that he understood, not to worry they will take care of me, he too agrees that I made the right choice.

Anyway, went to Easter vigil last night and speaking of heart issues, not on Holy Thursday, Good Friday or Easter vigil did I lay an eyeball on Father Thomas Flowers. Last night they announced that he was in the hospital for…….

….HEART ISSUES!

Lord but I do love the man but what can I say? He weighs close to 400 pounds I bet and since he’s been at our parish this is the third time he’s been in the hospital. Please don’t forget we had another priest drop dead right in the church.

Anyway, happy blessed Easter, the Lord is risen….it’s a new day.

Regardless of how the Cruz on Fox segment ends up, the real surprise for me is how unprepared the Cruz campaign seems to have been that any of the affairs (what do you call this stuff, anyway??) came to the surface. Even if there was never anything in his past that might have actually pointed to this as a possibility, I would have expected this to be covered in the initial discussions about possible events and how to publicly respond to it (like a prominent person passing away, a large-scale terror attack on American soil, pick the crisis....) Especially since Senator Cruz has built the base of his support on religious conservatives.

With all of that, I guess the real indication of whether any of this is true is to see the religious conservatives on his staff resigning, as actual evidence comes to light. While some would stay for the paycheck, I would expect that several might want to have nothing to do with the man, again if any of it is true.

What a mess. This should be a very easy election to win, with Hillary Clinton having all of her problems and Bernie Sanders being what he is. I hope this does not turn into Republicans tearing defeat away from the jaws of victory. Our form of government can't take much of what is happening now.

The GOP has concluded it’s death rattle, slipped into a coma, and is current dead. The funeral will be at its convention in Cleveland. The party bosses have falsely detected a weak pulse, but the rest of us are smelling the rotted corpse. The party was tone deaf, ignored the TEA Party, sided with Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and gave Barry a budget deal that is a debt-generator. McCain, McConnell, Ryan, Boehner all stood by and covered their butts for a long time. Now the fruits of their efforts killed the GOP. Long live Queen Hillary.

For those who don't already know (in part because the press hasn't been reporting it), a challenge to Cruz eligibility has made its way to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Summary of Action / Docket sheet in Elliott v. Cruz - PA Sup. Ct. 29 MAP 2016

Not much new since that summary was posted this past Thursday morning. Cruz answered the Applications for Oral argument and for Intervention (somebody else wants to join the case), where Answering the filing is a substantive objection. Plaintiff Elliott filed a "No Answer Letter" to Victor Williams' Application to Intervene.

Whichever way this decision goes, I would expect the loser to petition SCOTUS to take the case. SCOTUS won't take it, I don't think, if the Pennsylvania Supreme Court finds in Cruz's favor by ruling the issue cannot be decided by a court, and SCOTUS would not take it, I don't think, if the Pennsylvania Supreme Court takes it up on the merits and finds Cruz to be NBC. The only way they take the case is if the Pennsylvania Supreme Court finds jurisdiction and rules Cruz is not eligible. I give that (making what I find to be the correct decision) a very low probability.
