De Niro removed the anti-vaccination documentary “Vaxxed” from the lineup of his Tribeca Film Festival, after initially defending its inclusion. (AP Photo/Kin Cheung) A controversial film that accuses the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of covering up the link between vaccines and rising autism rates has been pulled from the Tribeca Film Festival after its inclusion sparked outrage.

A day after he defended the decision to screen the documentary “Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe,” festival co-founder Robert De Niro announced in a statement Saturday that he reversed course after reviewing the film with colleagues and experts.

“My intent in screening this film was to provide an opportunity for conversation around an issue that is deeply personal to me and my family,” the statement said. “But after reviewing it over the past few days with the Tribeca Film Festival team and others from the scientific community, we do not believe it contributes to or furthers the discussion I had hoped for.”

Deadline Hollywood reported that filmmakers have accused Tribeca officials of engaging in censorship.

It’s only censorship if the government does it. However, I think there’s a grain of truth to the idea that vaccinations are harmful. The veterinary profession has severely cut back on its recommended vaccination protocol after years of associating such ill effects as auto-immune disease and certain cancers with over-vaccination. They have done this to their own cost, in terms of actual revenue.

Did Washington apply pressure to influence his decision?

The anti-vaxxers claim that vaccinations are a form of child abuse and upset some “balance” in nature. Oh, really? Why do they tend to be supportive of transgenderism? What could be more UNnatural than altering the sexual apparatus one was NATURALLY born with, either surgically or CHEMICALLY? More show biz hypocrisy.

(Former) Dr. Wakefield, the producer of this movie, is clearly a fraud.

Too bad the feral government can’t use the same kind of cost/benefit analysis with AGW that it uses with vaccines.

It’s his event. He can allow or dis-allow what he wants.

I know two families with autistic kids.

In one family, there is a history of this through more than one generation (hence, it is inherited).

In another, a child was behind on his vaccinations and so was given a bunch at one time. The mother was allergic to themersol (sp?) and told the doctor that (but was given the vaccinations anyway). The child developed severe autistic-like conditions afterwards.

So, I’m sure that “autism-like” conditions can come through allergic reactions to some ingredients in some vaccinations.

Which is not to say all vaccinations are bad, or that all autism-like conditions derive from vaccinations.

But some people may be affected (and there is also the question of how many vaccinations — 30 something?— we need to cram into a child’s first years, and can do safely)

It is censorship when someone censors it. Not sure why people want to deny that unless government does it.

You realize that you are dealing with some people’s be loves”settled science.”
Before.long ssomeone will be calling you an “anti-Vaxxer.”

Mess with a zealots religion and you become a heretic.

Science cannot be observing the phenomenon and continually contesting and reevaluating what we know. Science in the twenty first century is conforming to edicts made on high.

Just thought you should know.

I’m not a fan of vaccination for many things. But if I’m not mistaken de Niro (a leftist for sure) owns the festival and if he does not want it on the festival schedule, It’s not censorship or violation of freedom of speech so much as expressing his freedom of expression in his own festival.

I rarely agree with things people like DeNiro believe in. But I agree they have the right of expression and expect the same from them.

You might want to think your response through a little more. Just a suggestion.
