Police arrested a 23-year-old suspect in a federal terror case Sunday.
That’s after they say he was threatening to kill people inside a Twin Cities Walgreens.
Abdul Raheem Habil Ali-Skelton is from Glencoe. Just last week, federal prosecutors said he was in contact with terrorists in Syria last year.
Early Sunday morning, Ali-Skelton was arrested at a Walgreens in Brooklyn Park.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS contacted Ali-Skelton’s attorney in his federal case. Robert Richman said he’s “shocked” by the allegations of threats made at Walgreens.
He went on to say that those actions would be “completely out of character” for his client.
Ali-Skelton is currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail. He has not yet been formally charged with a crime.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office declined to comment on Ali-Skelton’s arrest.
Later this month, Ali-Skelton is scheduled to enter a plea to a charge of lying to the FBI.
According to federal court documents, he told the FBI that his last contact with members of the Islamic State group in Syria was in the spring of 2015, when he knew that he had contacted such individuals as recently as July 2015.
I wonder if they have any clue on his motive. It's obviously not religious, but what could it be? Anger at Bush? Anger at Trump? Anger at Palin? There are so many options to investigate, but so far no leads.
At this point, how do we know if it is or isnt religious?

I think this guy is a one off nut job wannabe. I’ll bet he has tried to join up with some group, but I also think that they are laughing their butts off at this clown.
They were probably going to use him instead of one of them for a suicide run.
