Library of Congress cancels 'illegal aliens' subject heading

The Library of Congress is no longer using the heading "illegal aliens" in bibliographic records, thanks to a request from Dartmouth College students.
Officials concluded that the meaning of "aliens" is often misunderstood and should be replaced with "noncitizen," and that the phrase "illegal aliens" has become pejorative. The heading "illegal aliens" is being replaced by "noncitizen" and "unauthorized immigration."

Leftists are really good as ‘rebranding’ ‘offensive’ designations to make them sound much nicer. You know, to bring the designation into line with Leftist ‘American values’. Illegal aliens are people who broke the laws of our country when entering the USA. They are criminals. But I would bet a boatload of money the L o C will never refer to them as ‘criminal aliens’.
